Bully Wee Villa
Brilliant episode tonight. Best performance yet by Ncuti, enjoyed all the twists and turns throughout. Don't read about it before watching it. Edited June 15 by Bully Wee Villa
Groundhopping Adventures
Jeebus. That was Sue Perb. Brilliant from start to finish. Is it really a week until the finale? Edited June 15 by Groundhopping Adventures

scottsdad
Nobody writes the second last episode of a season like RTD. It was always his best.
Jedi2
A really strong episode. Looking forward to the finale now.
GordonD
Did you notice that when the Doctor asked Kate if she had a time window, she replied that he had expressly forbidden UNIT to experiment with time technology "in the 1970s". Is this finally definitive proof that the Jon Pertwee UNIT stories took place in the seventies (and not the eighties as some believe)?
Bully Wee Villa
I spotted that, too. Doesn't explain why Sarah Jane says she's from 1980, though.
scottsdad
The main baddie is from The Pyramids of Mars, if you're looking for an excuse to watch it.

No. Kate herself addressed this previously: In The Day of the Doctor, Kate Stewart asks for one of her father's files; she says it may be filed under the 70s or the 80s "depending on the dating protocol", a clear reference to the UNIT dating controversy. No more is said on screen to explain this so-called protocol or how it works.

Bully Wee Villa
Just watched it, is decent enough. They've made the special effects a lot fancier.

Bully Wee Villa
I thought it was dreadful. Really disappointing after last week.
pawpar
Typical RTD. 2nd last episode great. Last episode meh. He has a history of doing this.

I loved Sutekh being back. 2nd last episode was brilliant, this one not so much. Ruby's mum was a bit anticlimactic. The Mel stuff wasn't mad convincing. 73 yards references were weird. Did enjoy the series overall though. Ruby's departure a bit less impactful when we know she's coming back at, presumably, Christmas

His penultimate episodes set things up in such a universe destroying way that he has to press the reset switch at the end. Compared to some of his other ones, this didn't turn out too bad. On the whole, I've enjoyed this season a lot. Space Babies and Rogue were a bit weak, but everything else has been good or better. Ncuti Gatwa and especially Millie Gibson have been solid throughout and it just feels like a far better show than it was under Chris Chibnall. On Dr Who Confidential or whatever it's called, RTD highlighted that Ruby will be back in the next season, but perhaps it'll just be for a few episodes like Martha in Season 4.
The Naitch
Good episode, last week was better. The Ruby’s mum story fell flat for me which is a shame. At least they’ve kept the Mrs Flood mystery going a bit longer.

Ncuti is pretty decent and I've been really impressed with Millie. Thought the first two episodes were fine until having silly endings, Rogue was so-so. Really enjoyed all the other episodes until the massive let down at the end. I can get the whole "oh her mother was just an ordinary person but she still matters" thing. That could have been a reasonable pay-off if it had just comprised the plot to one episode, but don't spend the entire series teasing that something amazing is going to happen then have that anticlimax. And sick of the show killing major characters and not having the guts to stick with it so the emotional pay-off is non-existant (obviously this doesn't apply to characters who can regenerate).
