chico
See this is what happens when you let **** be high ranking coppers. In the old days this would have been sorted out in The Lodge. With th back doors open?
stonedsailor
@GerryBraiden: Police still unpaid for weekend's Ibrox game and won't provide officers again until debt cleared and cash up front. @theheraldpaper Edit to add. Is the next OF game at Ibrox? It might be behind closed doors then. I'd love it if this was the case and the match was the championship decider, it wont happen though the SPL will bail them out against their projected prize money as they did for Gretna.

sjc
Now - this raises all sorts of interesting possibilities, if the Police are unhappy. You only pay for police inside the ground, IIRC, and theoretically Rangers could try to use alternatives (stewards, private security firms, etc.) as Motherwell and others have done a few times... but that's assuming anyone else wouldn't wanted paid upfront too. Although they're probably cheaper than the police. They could play behind closed-doors... but that's cutting revenues and alienating supporters (STs particularly). They could ask SPL for an advance on prizemonies... but currently, they're lowest possible finish is 6th (~£750k) and they've hundreds of £ outstanding debts to other clubs. Major predicament - 9 days till Hearts. would this deem them "unable to fulfill their fixtures" HJ ? What punishment would they likely get for that ? Would they be booted out for this ?

Have they even invoiced Rangers yet?

Tweets would imply that the Polis normally expect very quick settlement, but no idea.

Emunim
I'd be surprised if the police were paid by most clubs within five days to be honest.
GoTeamGaz
most clubs don't have to give assurances before the game to the head of the police that they will be recieving money I assume they demanded a shorter payment window
chico
most clubs don't have to give assurances before the game to the head of the police that they will be recieving money I assume they demanded a shorter payment window Even so Monday is the earliest the invoice would have been prepared. Would it then be posted?
HibeeJibee
It does seem rather early to be kicking-up-noise, but then again the police were quoted yesterday (was it a statement or "a source" btw?), moping about the OF derby. What demands can they make r.e. timescales?

What demands can they make r.e. timescales? The administrators will rightly not rush to pay any invoice and if they do they'll do it as slowly as they can. Are the polis really wanting someone there to turn round and say we sacked 3 17 year old Players to pay your bill?
mozam76
Did SP not come out pretty early last week (Tuesday PM? Can't quite remember) demanding assurances they would be paid for the Killie game? It struck me then that they would be demanding cash ASAP after the game, if not up front. In fact, the way they made that demand public so soon after admin being announced, it made me think that they've maybe had problems getting their money over the last few months.
