bennett
Alex Thomson is a war correspondent/ frontman of channel 4 news. Can anyone shed light on why he got involved in this caper? Can`t be bothered checking the credentials of our established sports `journalists`- but i shouldn`t imagine there`s much of any worth there (in terms of hard jounalism or degrees). f**k knnows why he cares.....but he does. And I wish he`d turned up ten years ago. STAR. Irish Phil claims he brought him in with promises of the scoop of all times. Imo it was Cosgrove.
HibeeJibee
Its scary that Gordon Smith held the position he did in the SFA. He says "this is a great institution" and seemed to have a go at lower league clubs by saying the smaller clubs "who have no ambition to even be higher in the leagues" get to vote on a "massive institution". Go f**k yourself and your wig is fooling nobody. Tit. Appalling.

HibeeJibee
BARNSTORMING Alloa statement: http://www.alloaathletic.co.uk/BlogView.aspx?pageid=2&ItemID=726&mid=2 While we understand that today's vote will be by secret ballot we have decided that our fans should be advised of the clubs voting intentions before the meeting to allow for clarity and avoid any ambiguity on how we interpret the situation. We believe that the SPL and possibly the SFA should have taken an earlier and more decisive stance on this issue, instead they ducked their responsibilities until such times that they were no longer in control of the situation. They then, somewhat bizarrely, came to the SFL meeting and asked us to vote as they wished (against sporting principles) and not as they had done. Incredibly they then proceeded to threaten our organisation with dire outcomes and implied threats if we did not bend to their joint will. Even after this Alloa held our own counsel to await our fans responses and the promised response from the SPL and SFA. We can advise that our fans were decisively against the Newco having direct entry into division one. Again what we received from the SPL was somewhat surprising. While many of the suggested improvements to the structures of Scottish football moving forward are progressive and long overdue, incredibly, they were then caveated with the condition that the SPL would take complete control, with an inbuilt majority on any new structured board 3 to 2. This would effectively give control of the whole of Scottish senior football to the failed management structure of the SPL. As we previously advised in our first statement, we would do what we believed was in the best interest of Alloa FC, Scottish Football and sporting integrity. Fortunately we believe that the best interests of all three are mutual. Alloa can see no reason to vote in any way other than to put the new Rangers in the league that there own manager and fans have asked for, division three. We hope that everyone involved in football takes this opportunity to remind ourselves that to a large extent the fans are Scottish football, without them what is the point? We must remember we are here to manage and administer our National game and not to implement anyones narrow will against the avalanche of public and fan opinion, using the excuse of promises of changes which should be taking place anyway. Financially there may be difficult times ahead, but we would rather face that than agree to sell out for short term financial gain or bend to threats and vote for a flawed proposal.

Drooper
BARNSTORMING Alloa statement: Indeed, it is outstanding. With each day that passes, and with each statement the wee diddy clubs release, I become more and more embarrassed to be a St Mirren supporter, if I'm being brutally honest.
Dunlop Don
That was a total embarassment. Archie is decades past his sell by date and has completely missed the point, Smith proved himself the moron that he is and the other one could have been any Scottish tabloid journalist given the position he took. The MSM have been incredible throughout this whole thing and haven't seemed to have picked up that they have been well behind public opinion throughout this process. Unfortunately, unlike TCFKAR, they are going to come through all this relatively unscathed and will continue in this vein for years to come. The Rangers fans should be aiming a big chunk of their anger at these fanboys because if they had done their job properly ten and fifteen years ago then their club wouldn't have imploded in a debt-ridden mess because the scandal would have broken back then, they would have suffered a wee bit and then been able to move forward.

Waspie
Well done Alloa. They listened to the fans and they have also just given the SPL and SFA a good kicking. Proud to be a Waspie.
Savage Henry
Nice statement on their site - up there with Clyde in their honesty and indignation: http://www.alloaathl...temID=726&mid=2 The good guys are winning. Well done Alloa. Frankly the longer this goes on, the more ostracised the "yes" or abstain clubs are looking.

Team Bible
Just awful, woeful - they just don't get it. Smith - wriggling like feck to try not to say he wants them in SFL 1 - small clubs with no ambition voting on the great institution - this man was SFA Chief exec ffs!! - the extra money they bring to the local economy.......... What about additional repair costs etc to trains buses buildings Archie - out of touch, needs to bow out, talking push Mail guy - if you take their figures (OF) they account for 85% of the money generated by Scottish football - go and do some proper fecking research of your own before passing comment you total @&@&@&@& Thompson - decent attempt especially last comment re packing it in I'm beyond belief. They seriously think that SKY money is what it's about. I've had it. I want them gone completely now. The arrogance and corruption is too much to bear. I'll never forgive them for what they've done to the game I love. If they go down SPL2 route it's civil war.
Owsley
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Gordon Smith is a manchild who has such a tenuous grasp of this situation it is utterly shaming that he was ever chief executive of the SFA. Have Scotland Tonight learned nothing? Tired old Archie and Smith, so obviously bluenoses that having them both on renders the chances of a serious debate exploring all the issues practically nil, "hatred for Rangers is staggering", "been in four european finals", so fucking what! Bit disappointed in Thomson, he should have pressed home the point that, as Clyde stated today, there is no information on Sevco so how can the SFL clubs be expected to vote them into any league, let alone the First?
