A wee dig at Rangers

""@StanCollymore: And I guess a real loyalist of any country is happy to pay tax."

He'll be on the boycott list

could also be a dig at bonio from U2 or any number of tax dodgers..

Dungcaster qualified and worked as a solicitor and has an MBA. He knows the difference between a CVA and a newco deal, he knows also the huge difference in the outcome and repercussions. He is lying and the question is why? (That's rhetorical btw)

Because the deal to allow a Newco straight back in "for the sake of the brand" was done months ago.

Lets not kid ourselves here..........Rangers were ALWAYS going to be liquidated hence Craig Whyte turning up on the scene.

If Rangers Newco get in with a newco without any sanctions that will be the death pf Scottish Football. How many people here would return to an SPL match knowing the whole thing is corrupt and without doubt explicitly run for the bigot brothers? Not only that but there's a high chance that your team's chairman voted them back in? Count me out.

Quite ironic that I'm considering going to Cove Rangers games next season.

What about Culter or Banks O'Dee?

I can understand your line of thinking but I really do not think that the SPL are competent enough to pull off such a Machiavellian strategy and keep it under wraps for "months".

The SPL leadership has, throughout this crisis, been characterised by dithering, obfuscation, the clammy palmed embarrassed anxiety of a schoolboy who just been confronted by his Mum with his "hidden" porn stash, a bit of why-o-why handwringing from Topping the hapless bookie, and almost as many postponed deadlines as those masters of the genre, Haudit & Daudit. As a group of people the level of debate and open-ness to different possible scenarios has been nothing short of abysmal.

Many associated with the SPL may *want* a newco straight back in for obvious self-interested reasons, but there's a difference between wanting something to happen, and actually agreeing a deal for it to happen.

I honestly think Doncaster et al are just hoping something happens which takes any responsibility for them to act away. For once the SFA have to be congratulated for sticking to their line and refusing to be intimidated. Quietly, they will be pleased that their actions are throwing the spinelessness of the SPL into very sharp relief. I think that if there are any "secret plans" going around, there will be one in a locked desk drawer at the SFA on how to quickly absorb the members of a collapsed post-Rangers SPL into a new national league structure, and on how to accommodate a newco properly within that set up.

There's a bit of a lull at the moment and a vaccuum of hard news and developments. People naturally get despondent and fear the worst in such scenarios but I think we're only about halfway through this really complex maze so far. A long way still to go and a lot still to come out- starting tomorrow.

The Challenge Cup is usually drawn about a fortnight after the Cup Final - Not sure about the season fixture list..I take it everything is now delayed while Rangers reward is being worked out.

GTF with your well thought out, reasoned and articulate posting.

Tomorrow night will re-open a few sealed wounds.

I always assumed loyalist was someone who supported the crown.

In the strange little world inhabited by the OF's supporters, yes.

Elsewhere, it's entirely possible to be a loyal British citizen while advocating the abolition of the monarchy.

Anyway, Bonio's a foreigner so it certainly doesn't apply to him.
