Mr Kelly, I used to believe you came across as a deluded fucknugget with little grasp on reality, thank you for confirming my opinion was right.

Waffling old b*****d. He clearly realises though, that Celtic without Rangers would be like Itchy without Scratchy, i.e. pointless.

While the giants of Scottish football are rivals, Celtic should not seek to punish the other half of the Old Firm too heavily, writes Michael Kelly

I didn't read any more. Unless I've missed something it would be the SPL, SFA, and UEFA who would do any 'punishing' - and not another member club of the SPL.

FTOF - Is it any wonder we think this?

But while the rivalry on the field between Scotland’s biggest clubs has always been intense, away from the heat of games, relations have usually been warm, close and helpful. As we face this uncertain future for Scottish football one thing is sure, Celtic and Rangers must stick together. Already the other SPL clubs, scenting weakness, are banding together to plan ways in which to clip the Old Firm’s wings. Any adjustment in the way TV and other receipts are spread among the clubs must certainly improve the position of the ten. It might even lead to closer competition. But that competition would be fought at an even lower level than it is at present. European success is at the moment a distant dream. If Celtic and Rangers had even less money to spend on players they’d rarely get past the first qualifying round.

For this fella to write the above, given that he was around when the Rangers' hierarchy were arguably at their high point of anti-Catholicism, really underlines the cushy relationship that has pretty much always existed between the two. 'Us' and 'them' writ large ;)

Anybody else following Alex Thomson from Channel 4 news.......You get the feeling that more than a few people in the SFA, SPL, RFC Board (Past & Present) & the "succulent lamb" media will be touching cloth. biggrin.gif

Now they've been charged with five SFA rule breaches. Whyte himself has been charged with two. Hearing to begin the same day as the Collier/Bristow hearing on the 29th.

Hope I've brought you all a new popcorn moment.

Edited to add STV article:

The Scottish Football Association's Judicial Panel will consider cases against both Rangers and owner Craig Whyte on Thursday, March 29.

The club are accused of breaching five disciplinary rules, while Whyte has allegedly broken two. The timescale of the offences stretches back to May 6, 2011.

Rule 14 (g), which Rangers have potentially breached for going into administration, can lead to a club losing or having its membership of the governing body suspended. A fine can alternatively be issued.

Both parties are accused of breaching rules 66 and 71. Rule 66 gives the Scottish FA scope to punish both a club and an official for bringing the game into disrepute. Rule 71 warns against any party not acting in the best interests of the game or acting in an improper manner.

Well done the SFA, anything that can be done to rid Rangers of that terrible blight that is Mr Whyte and his cheating ways are to be applauded, it's a shame it's got to this stage when previously Mr Murray, who did things above board (Mr Ogilvie would not work for him otherwise) ran such a tight ship

Is there genuinely not a hint of irony in this post?
