What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Hollywood Vice Squad

The recent discussion on this thread about Cannon films reminded me of this 1986 movie. My local video rental store had a copy but my mum thought that I was too young to watch it. I googled it yesterday and found it in full on youtube. It's a typically trashy 80s straight to video feature starring Carrie Fisher and Joey Travolta as unorthodox cops investigating porn and prostitution. There's a fair mix of violence and slapstick. It's like it can't decide if it wants to be serious or a comedy. There's all the usual 80s L.A. cliches, like street punks, hookers, pimps and drag queens.

Shite, but entertaining shite.

6/10

Office Space 0/10.

Son said to watch it saying it was a really funny film.

I have to say it's the must boring piece of shit I have ever seen.

Can’t agree. It’s a classic. It inspire The Office. Ricky even gives Pete Gibbons a mention.

Gonna have to go right ahead and disagree with you there.

Office Space is a great film - so much so that even Jennifer Aniston comes over well.

Did ya get that memo?

I'll make sure to send you another copy. ;)

Saw Cruella tonight at the cinema.. all of 10 folk in there.

9/10 amazing film. I was expecting a kids mushy look at how cruella grew up but it turned out a good look at how cruella came to be. Emma stone was great and Emma Thompson was excellent. All pulls together well into the original Disney story.

Dogtainian tomorrow… I hope it’s as good as the original 30 years ago!

10/10 for dogtainian. Nostalgia to the max.

It took a year of my childhood to get through the same story the film did in 90 mins.

I loved Dogtanian as a kid. It was high drama at the age of 7.

It was also very anti Vatican which was formative.

Were you guys watching the 3D version of the Liam Neeson film?

Edit: Clash of the Titans, not Dogtanian.

I've no idea if Liam Neeson's in Dogtanian.

Yes, Liam Neeson is in the Liam Neeson version of Clash of the Titans.

Liam Neeson is not in the Ray Harryhausen version of Clash of the Titans, and Ray Harryhausen does not do the special effects in the Liam Neeson version of Clash of the Titans, which is a shame, really. About time stop-motion made a comeback.

Saw The Father at the McRobert last Saturday, outstanding performance from Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman was superb as well. Went back last night to see Supernova, great performances by Colin Firth and particularly Stanley Tucci.
