Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Recommended Posts

Sutherland had another good solid performance. Comrie in the first half was playing on the right wing and made a number of nice low fast crosses, but to Left back in the second unfortunately.

We must have played 85% in there half, the first half and there was a noticeable down turn in the quality of play in the second with the substitutes, again showing how much we rely on Benedictus.

High pass marks for Wotherspoon who was instructing younger players on positions etc you would expect and Kieran Ngwenya who looks strong and I am going with it being a shot and not a cross that hit the bar.

Wasn't there but a mate that was said we actually played really well. Cove scored totally against the run of play, sounds like a bit of a screamer as well so a bit unexpected. Good to get minutes in the tank which is what pre-season is about, however we need to add a winning mentality again. We'll not have it all our own way in the league, very few teams do in the Championship but we need to be more ruthless this season, more wins on the board.

Was at the game and thought the first half we played a solid game plan defensively and held the ball well, Cove didn’t really have many opportunities and as above scored against the run of play.

Second half the quality went downhill but playing three trialists and youngsters will do that.

Trialist (Josh Cooper?) playing on the left had a couple of nice runs but was a little isolated.

Trialist in the middle I didn’t recognise had a solid hit from a corner ( after a total swipe and miss ) and looked comfortable on the ball

Trialist Keeper couldn’t do much about the goal but other than that was also comfortable with ball at the feet, didn’t have much else to do.

not sure it was because he was next to the dugout second half, but the amount of instructions O’Halloran needed ( and straight up ignored about stop cutting inside so much ) was surprising. At one point McPake asked if O’Halloran was hurt, the reply was he was fine and then was told to put some effort into it,

O'Halloran reminds me of playing Pro Evo on the Playstation years ago.

Keep your finger in L1 button and you run fast in a straight line but unable to change direction or do anything with the ball until you take your finger off L1 button.  With O'Halloran it's he is in constant L1 button mode.

It would be Supyk on the left, Cooper in the middle.
