I agree with your views on Murray but the Jack Ross stuff is irrelevant. If you ask the right folk, Ian Murray had planned his exit well in advance of his departure. No problems there, but we've now already worn that T-shirt and don't need/wish to again.
Very seldom in football does a returnee return to repeat the trick, perhaps with the grimly notable exception of Alex McLeish.

I wasn't waving a flag for Murray earlier, just that I wouldn't be averse to his return. It all depends if he has applied. If he has it deserves consideration and reservation in equal measure.

Michael Stewart anyone? Liked a tweet about managing us.

Hopefully not. He's one of the most unlikeable roasters in Scottish football.

One from the Chris Sutton/Kris Boyd school of controversy. People with belief in their opinion way beyond their validity.

Billy Lamont didn't do too badly in his second spell with us!

You think? Think Stewart's points are always good ones and not outrageous, just his willingness to listen to other people's opinions that piss people off I think.

How did Davie Wilson's second spell go ? Not that well I recall. And yet John Lambie had three spells at one club - sometimes it works, most times it doesn't.
And I get the impression that Ian Murray would quickly get itchy feet again.

Davie's second spell started well. The thing to remember is that the average tenure of a Dumbarton manager is 18 months. We're primarily looking for someone to rescue this season and take it from there.

Davie's second spell started with clinching promotion to the Premier League and then our only season in that league. In the following season, we finished 6th in the first division (Championship) with Davie being punted in the February after a bad run of results culminating in a cup exit via Queens Park at Hampden.  At the season's end, we were two points off second place. Alex Wright was caretaker having taken over from Wilson. By today's standards, I'd say Davie's second spell went pretty well apart from a bad run of 11 games which sealed his fate. I doubt we'd sack anyone for 6th place in the Championship these days.....
