deej
From the perspective of somebody on a space ship travelling as close to the speed of light as makes no difference, how long would it take to go from Earth to the centre of the Galaxy? P.S. The ship would already be travelling at near light speed as it passes Earth and will not slow down as it approaches the centre of the Galaxy. -1/12

Went to Ayr Academy, one of Dundee's 1961/62 Scottish League Division One Championship and 1962/63 European Cup Semi-Finalist squads and apart from also playing for Scotland and the Scottish League played for 2 English teams who played in red and white then finished up 3 games closer to his birth place who played in the same colours as his home town team. supermik
Just in from work. My original answer would have been Ian Ure but I see that the answer has already been given out!
welshbairn
We have a winner. Leeds Saint said 14 Billion years if I counted the zeros correctly. That would be close if it was the centre of the Universe rather than the centre of the Galaxy. Another problem is that the boffins say the Universe doesn't have a centre, but I think the Big Bang happened about 14.5 billion years ago. supermik said 29,000 years, very close, the figure I have is 25,000 years. supermik progresses to the final. welshbairn
I'm not sure how the Cup works having been knocked out in the first round every time. Does the final happen now or next week/season?

Eednud
This is the last round of the current quiz league before the winter/summer shut down and the silly buggers at The Australian almost caused a furore as they've forgotten to post today's quiz> Fortunately they gotr round to posting the correct one for Monday 12 December so here it is. Good luck to everyone and Merry Christmas to all of you. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/mind-games/quiz?quizId=5733§ionId=1 Don't know why I bothered as only got 3/10 but knew all of them, colcannon, Oz sports minister & rebellion. Changed the composer from correct answer. So think that's relegation guaranteed for me.

Frankie S
7/10. Knew colcannon, Day-Lewis, Jinnah, Boxer Rebellion and Zarathustra. Landed 2 guesses from the remaining 5. 1 from 3 on sport is above par for me. Edited December 22, 2016 by Frankie S
