Alistair McCoist

McCoist can't, and probably won't leave. It's career suicide at this stage. If he walks out now, he's admitting that's he's not up to the job of getting a club with (almost certainly) the second highest budget in Scotland out of it's second tier, having enjoyed even greater financial advantages in his previous two seasons, against largely part-time footballers. If he somehow limps to the title, he can at least claim he did all he could and hope prospective employers aren't bothered about the profligacy involved in defeating posties and plumbers for the best part of three years.

He also surely knows that he won't get any sort of decent gig anywhere else, so I wouldn't really blame him for sticking it out at Ibrox. He's incompetent, and he knows he's incompetent, which is probably why he's quick to shift the focus onto certain players after a bad result.

Hopefully he stays, it's pretty amusing to watch.

I get the feeling he's not all that interested in having a career in management post Rangers - as you say, he's incompetent, but he's canny enough to realise Rangers will be the best paying and highest profile job he'll ever get as a manager. He'll have raked in a fortune for his "management" by the time he leaves, and I foresee him going into a cushy media role once he's away (mutually or otherwise).

I also believe McCoist quite enjoys the adulation though, that adulation is starting to rapidly evaporate, a voluntary move upstairs or into a media type role would regain a lot of that respect while still allowing him to earn a healthy salary, surely must be better than the weekly boo-athons that are now commonplace.

McCoist & respect ? fcuk aff ya dopey cnut

So if you're upstairs but a "rangers man", it's acceptable to earn a healthy salary?

I agree.

I think that something along those lines will happen during this season, if Rangers continue to trail the League leaders by a distance.

For the club to progress on the pitch we have to get away from this 'Rangers man mentality'. By moving McCoist upstairs is only prolonging this recurring theme that there has to be people with a Rangers playing background in positions within the club.

The club needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom, from the board to playing management, McCoist, Durrant, McDowall gone, as well as the removal of a BoD who have no real interest in the club progressing, easier said than done i know but as long as we keep following this mentality of Rangers men in managerial, DoF and coaching positions the club will never move forward.

I would prefer to see McCoist gone from the club, fine player that he was.

Did that not happen before with PLG? Until the good Rangers men at the club got their media pals to stoke up a witch hunt?

Then Walter came back he got more money thrown at him, and the rest is history?

Isn't that what happened at Deidco Year Zero ? You got brand new directors, new investment, new players and spunked £70 million quid along the way.

You cannot polish a turd.

When will you clowns learn ?

Interesting first answer. He doesn't care what the fans think.

Of course not. Alastair is a venal wee spiv in manager's clothing. The fact that he is employed in a hands-on footballing capacity blinds the fans into his nefarious activities. I've lost count of his Doublespeak utterings but the Sevco faithful swallow his lies like fluffers at a pornshoot.

"The Light Blues boss says he is not “bombproof” from the sack, regardless of how much it would cost the club to get rid of him."

"To the greatest respect to everybody the only people that know what goes on out there is my players and my staff.

"You've got two automatic promotions then I think that's the target. I've said all along the target is to get back to the top flight as soon as possible.

They should take a chance and just sack him and be done with it, he's not going to turn this around and we if leave it much longer then the league is lost
