The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

The whole development league/reserve league argument is completely disingenuous. Sides can play 5 overage players in their u20s if they choose. So as things stand with squads as they are a change to a 'reserve' league would be nothing more than semantics, unless people are actively encouraging the idea of filling up squads with jobbers for no reason other than to have them kick kids in reserve games.

There's no doubt that there's a gap between u20s football and first team football but some players have been able to make the transition better than others. The whole misty-eyed reminiscing for "reserve" football is nostalgic pish tbqh.

Edit: Aberdeen currently have 9 players out on loan to lower league sides, I'm assuming most of them are players from the 20s, so it'd seem they're getting "competitive" football via the loan system as it is. How many of them is McInnes likely to play though? If they're out on loan but not good enough for the first team then I don't see how that's the dev league's fault.

Proposed stadium looks good but the stands don't look very steep. Worry that it will feel far away from the action with the slope being that shallow. Would be a huge missed opportunity to build a new stadium and not have seats close to the pitch.

Did he say what he would change about the Development League or replace it with if he had the chance?

He was really glad about getting the reserve league back. This season we loaned a lot of players out deliberately to get the proper competitive games.

They made the stands more shallow to appease the WANKS' arguments about it dominating the Westhill landscape.

They've also saved a bit of money by exactly copying Bristol City's new stand.

If things weren't working out for Stevie May in England and a loan opportunity came up, Aberdeen would be a fine choice. A big club who are doing well. It'd be as much as he could hope for.

He hasn't played in over a year though. The priority for him and PNE should be getting him games. Aberdeen as a club and as a set of fans can't and wouldn't afford him the grace he will likely need to find form and fitness. That benefits nobody, not Aberdeen, not Preston and not May.

That May story seems utterly baseless, tbh, they spend two paragraphs saying saying he's injured, and knows McInnes, then spend the rest of the article talking about Hayes.

Hes going to be linked with nearly every big club in the country this window.

As much as it would pain me to see him in another shirt I would love to see him playing again here. Hes mid 30's now surely though and has been playing in a part time league?
