New T in the Park Site (for 2015)

I started going in 2006 and it's not changed much crowd wise since then. I could be wide of the mark but is it possible your age has an impact on what you make of the composition of the crowd? The older you get the more noticeable these things are in my experience.

Well I'm in my 40's so I definitely noticed!

The problems are it got too big too quick, Geoff obviously going for a younger crowd and plenty of them in as little a space as he could get away with. It really was great when there were 40,000 in a bigger arena than the 80,000 used. He cut the arena size and brought the slam tent into the sort of triangle shape when before it was way out in it's own part of the site (and way bigger too)

I feel it's the beginning of the end for the fest sad to say. Balado was perfect in location and roads (certainly when the capacity was less than 80,000) but health & safety fucked that up, and the residents of posh Auchterarder will never be as welcoming as Milnathort & Kinross. They'll need to move again as 2 years max I'll give it at Strathallan

Gutted I missed them, as I had to escort my daughter to see bloody Jessie J. In the rain. :thumbsdown

I wish people would stop referring to single track roads round here though; they're not. They're narrow, but they're 2 lane. And massive lorries, buses and farm transports batter round here all year round.

I'm no apologist for it, I've never been to T in my life before this year. I've been to plenty metal festivals though, so have seen the issues that happen.

But there was a HUGE local movement to get it through here. I know, because my wife was working all the hours under the sun (unpaid I must add!!) to get it through. I also know for a fact that DFConcerts relied hugely on the local goodwill. I also recognise some of the names cropping up claiming 'problems' on various FB pages etc, and can only conclude they are suffering extreme butthurt that it was removed from Kinross.

I've also spoken to plenty veterans over the last couple of days who tell me it's no more a nedfest than it's ever been. I took my kids (age 9 and 11) and we've had 2 great days. We turned up after the early rush and left at 8 or 9 pm and it was as smooth as silk both ways. The state of a few of the punters we've seen has been a valuable life lesson for them!

titp was never a neediest for me - 90% + of people going to it are going for a good time and for the right reasons, as always its the small minority that ruin the statistics for everyone else

For me it was always about music, getting off my face, meeting new friends and saying "My life outwit of this is a joke but i can just be myself for one weekend and cut loose if only for one weekend of the year"

Sadly over the years with other commitments i have been unable to go - i made the ambition of doing every year til i was 30 and people told me i wouldn't and i always said i would do it so i feel sad i never got to prove them wrong but sadly other things take over your life and the expense of it comes too much to justify

Went in 2003 and then back again in 2012 and can't say there was much difference. Not as bad as to say "nedfest". If you get tens of thousands of folk, there's going to be a lot of neds in there. But the majority of the people I came across were alright, and then again in 2013 it was the same.

Has it gone downhill since then?

Seen Stereophonics at T in 2013 and they were dull as dishwater. They looked like a completely different band there. Probably the layoff and the energy that comes with it that helped. Either way, they put on a hell of a performance there.

Fatboy slim was incredible. Must have watched the 25 min video of his set on BBC iPlayer about 20 times. Way better than Avicii and Calvin Harris a few years ago. What made him better was the way he changed his songs and made them sound better whereas Calvin Harris and Avicii just played their songs and did f*ck all. The apache bits during Eat Sleep Rave Repeat were just amazing.

Agreed. Other than Noel Gallagher I have disliked every second of the highlights so far. This Rudimental shite on just now are awful.

The dreadful mental pygmy is Arielle Free apparently.

Not quite as bad as the Glastonbury presenters, but she runs Gemma Cairney very close.

The festival itself sounds like an absolute disaster judging by the fb page - not heard much from P and B ers who were there although they may well all be stuck there in the traffic

Was a poor show by all the staff in a situation that could've easily been predicted by the organisers. I heard of delays of up to 10 hours. Took us 7 hours to get from the campsite to the drop-off point back in Hamilton but that's including a half hour walk from the campsite to where the bus was meant to drop us off.

Gerry Cinnamon absolutely fucking killed it on the T Break stage on Sunday afternoon - that and The Strypes were highlights for me.

Honourable mentions to Fatboy Slim and and The Beautiful South (as they were once called).

As for the new site, was ok I guess. After many years at Balado it will take a while to adjust to anywhere new.

The Facebook page is bombarded with stories of horror and T are deleting comments willy nilly and replying to the very rare positive ones!

One guy said that he left the car park no bother and was home within 1.5 hours and they replied to it but are just ignoring and deleting the rest whilst posting about being taken back already to see the Libertines!! Completely trying to paper of the cracks with the back lash of so many unhappy campers
