houston_bud
Hats off to the producers today. It must be really tough, when there's 18 games (plus multiple goals, chances, red cards etc) happening today, to squeeze in 10 mins of chat about Celtic and Rangers' European draw.

HibeeJibee
4 hours ago, DukDukGoose said: They're talking about whether there should be postponements for European fixtures again. From what they've proposed Aberdeen would have only played one game this season. They're talking about how the team in Europe would have the backlog... ignoring Aberdeen would not only miss the advantage of playing a tired team but we would have a backlog of fixtures ourselves. We'd also not have the boost to our finances that comes with playing in Europe. Quite it's bizarre. Letting clubs postpone a single match may work in continental leagues with fewer games and less reliance on gate £... the pundits idea would amount to starting our league in September.

It’s worth noting that cancelling a game to prepare for a European tie also completely guarantees that you’ll get rodgered in said European tie. It’s 100% certain (see ye olde Rangers when they did it back in the day).

Scottish pundits: our teams are never prepared for the early rounds of Europe as they haven’t played any competitive games. Also Scottish pundits: we need to postpone league games so the teams can prepare better for Europe
Crawford Bridge Posted Saturday at 17:31 Share Posted Saturday at 17:31 Listen, which is worse? McIntyre's "Dindee" or Stewart's "Dunjee"?

Clubs in Europe are not going to be postponing every single game, nobody would want to do that. I don't think that granting teams the option of one postponement in August is going to cause a single problem, especially with the new European set-up where different competitions play on different weeks.

Seems fair enough, need the fixtures balanced as Aberdeen could have had Kilmarnock & St Mirren both choose to postpone.

Savage Henry Posted Sunday at 13:45 Share Posted Sunday at 13:45 Absolutely dreadful commentary on Hibs second goal … “Boyle through… he’s got to square it [no explanation why or what is hapoening]… he’s put it in the net.” Like a club commentator.

Dons_1988 Posted Sunday at 17:26 Share Posted Sunday at 17:26 I see they’ve revolutionised Saturday afternoons with hilarious WhatsApp voice notes. Wonder how long the production team spent on that gem of an idea.

Can’t stand the man, but McIntyre has never said he is a St Mirren fan, just that his kids are.
