A nice under the radar crowd wanking post there. Well done.

They're quite open about it. Mind you, Kirk Broadfoot also nearly blinded himself making scrambled eggs in a microwave so they're maybe not the sharpest tools in the box.

Took us a few years to train him in the art of taking a shy tbf.....

See the time we outnumbered you at your ground, the 3-4 game when we never won the league, was your pitch plastic then?

I thought that was a cracking game.

What a day. Must have been a lonely tractor ride back after hearing the Gretna score.

The main problem I’d have against prohibiting artificial surfaces in the Premiership is clubs being in the same situation as the old 10,000 seater rule, clubs with existing artificial pitches facing a prohibitive bill for promotion. If Rangers want to play on grass every week perhaps they can cover the costs of the diddy teams maintaining a grass pitch, hiring out alternative training facilities and pitches for youth and ladies teams to play on.

There’s also not an artificial pitch in the country that is as bad as Albion Rovers’ grass pitch last season when we visited around February/March. Our grass pitch had long spells of being in a disgraceful state too over the years, due to weather and the condition of the land Stark’s was built on.

It was a poached egg Broadfoot was making, not scrambled

I'd hazard a guess that the Jimmy Johnstones of this world picked up a lot of their skills while playing on concrete, tarmac or ash blaze, you certainly don't pick up much skill ploughing through mud everyday as an 8 year old in Scotland.

The media seem to think all plastic pitches are the same. Livvys is awful but may settle down, Hamiltons new one looks good & Killies looks like its coming to the end of its lifespan yet all 3 are treated identically.

I'd be up for going more mental if they look poor, maybe different colours? I'm sure theres a college american football team that has a blue one.

Like happened in Iceland?

Only two of the current Iceland squad (Saevarrson and Skulason) actually play in Iceland, but your point is fair since most of the squad will have grown up playing o artificial pitches.

Another regular complaint they have about artificial pitches is that the ball doesn't bounce properly and doesn't run or hold up properly.

That's pish for various reasons (a professional footballer will be able to adapt very easily after getting a feel for any pitch during the warm up) but mainly because it suggests that the ball bounces and runs/holds up exactly the same on every single grass pitch.

Then there's the pish about how it gives the home team an advantage. Perhaps it does, but then surely every team has an advantage by knowing their pitch better than others, including those with grass pitches.

If it's that advantageous, why doesn't every team get one?

If anything, there should be less of a disadvantage for the away team on an artificial pitch, since it should be the same for every game - you can't really water it to make it heavier, and you certainly can't change the length of the grass to annoy Brendan Rogers.
