No attempt made to correct herself. Do these people actually hear themselves? I also caught Chic Young's summarising of our game. Even by his standards, it was incoherent nonsense, as he flitted about chronologically, giving very little sense of how the game unfolded, or even of its key moments. He's too interested in projecting himself, to provide even the basics.

Well, it was his fellow Rangers fans that were being racist. He'll naturally try and deflect.
Ludo*1
He makes a decent point that when his sister comes to watch her brother with her son that has learning difficulties (not that that's hugely relevant) the last thing they should be subjected to is below the belt abuse. Similarly with Hibs fans chanting that Jason Cummings is a paedophile. Both chants are disgusting and out of order and that sort of thing needs stamped out in Scottish football. Charlie's not the brightest though and it wasn't exactly a great opportunity to bring it up when talking about Kyogo being subjected to racism mind.

While not wanting to get into Rangers levels of "its a minority", I am about to do just that .....................every Hibs fan I have spoken to or seen referencing this on forums is utterly disgusted. Those singing this are the same drugged up young fuckwits that have no qualms about throwing bottles at players. They genuinely dont represent our wider support, but sadly they do seem to represent a larger proportion of the travelling support.
Clown Job
They really shouldn’t have football pundits on to discuss these sort of issues within society It’s not as bad as that time Chick Young tried to blame catholic schools for anti catholic bigotry mind you

Sherrif John Bunnell
I think we should be grateful that there was no Scottish football on at the peak of the George Floyd protests. I dread to think what nonsense would have spouted by the idiots that Radio Scotland let on air.

Fratelli
Not to say that by virtue of having focused on nothing other than football from an early age, all footballers are uneducated and unable to talk about complex societal issues - there are plenty of articulate, well informed players and ex players out there, however Charlie Adam is not and never will be one of them. Why on earth they had him on to talk about something as serious and delicate an issue as racism is beyond me. I feel he's trying to do the early Kris Boyd/Sutton thing of being a bit outspoken and even inflammatory to appeal to his side of the divide, but making a complete howler of it and doing it when it's neither effective nor appropriate. Taking racism down the thicko cliche ex player phone-in route with the 'well we've aw got our opinions' and 'theres two sides to everything' type of patter was ridiculous. The whole show was a car crash last night, they've proven on quite a few occasions that whenever they're forced to veer away from tired, received knowledge-based Old Firm chat they're well out their depth - even the presenters. Between this and Hugh Keevins prehistoric chat last night it really is no wonder more folk are turning to non-mainstream podcasts and fan media. A reluctance to actually talk about the issue without bringing other, irrelevant stuff into it and a roundtable discussion with a bunch of auld guys who have little to no understanding of racism. I look forward to next weeks episode where they get Gary Taylor-Fletcher on to discuss the rising tensions in the middle east.
