invergowrie arab
Other than through his pals in Pacific Quay how does Murphy plan on running a campaign for 3 months at full tilt with a decimated activist based mostly made up of geriatrics? The snp of course have no such problems with the first day of nationwide campaigning launched yesterday.
HaikuHibee
To be fair nobody should be able to own the word Yes Its a bit like Better Together supporters pishing their frillies because Salmond used the term best of both worlds However, after rampaging around the country screaming NO, NO, NO in pensioners faces in the past year, it does seem ill advised for Murphy to suddenly turn into Mr Yes. Fully expect him on the Sunday Politics in next few weeks with full Scotland fitba kit on and wearing a Yes badge. Urban Gorilla will be out canvassing for support Yes Scotland's a brand. Murphy wants it to win votes. He should admit that. That's Slab's PR folk. They hated the Yes campaign, now they're using it. Here's a thought for you. The BT brand is worthless, despite more money. Colkitto
Murphy has to try things like that because he has so little room for manoeuvre. Labour policy is controlled from London and they are a british party - that's just a fact of life. He can't vary off party policy and therefore can't do anything too radical. All he can do is the exact same as Lamont and Gray who went before him - and you can see how that turned out. And present polling shows it's going the exact same way for Murphy And that is the big problem for the Labour party in Scotland. People want real change and despite their word play on "Home Rule" Labour are not offering that - and the people know it. He has massive backing from the media and he can give them headlines now and again. Whether that plays with a now very well politically informed Scottish public remains to be seen
Elixir
The Tartan Stalinists: Forced sales of country estates. Snooping state guardians for every child. Contempt for the wealthy... and Britain. Fantasy? No, it's the stark reality of an SNP landslide But... I thought the SNP were a centre-right party? Who is correct here: H_B or the Daily Mail? Whether that plays with a now very well politically informed Scottish public remains to be seen Labour are absolutely fucked. In times gone by they were the political wing of a wider social movement. Blair and is acolytes like Murphy made sure the power of that wider movement was neutered and discarded so they could concentrate power within an elite of policy makers and spin doctors in millbank. Rightly or wrongly the SNP are regarded as the political wing of a social movement, in westminster elections a least, that labour attacked for 2 years. Yes Dundee were in the city centre yesterday collecting for foodbanks whilst letting everyone know their existence is a disgrace. Politicians smile for the cameras whilst cutting ribbons at foodbanks. Radical Indy were holding an anti- fracking conference whilst women for indy continue to get hundreds of women out to meetings across the country every week. These are issues that resonate with the public and labour cant get near it as their only response is for london to say they will make a top down political decision. The populist ground is utterly dominated by Yes and by extension the snp.

Romeo
I look forward to all of the treacherous no voting scumbags scrambling to make excuses when Labour get handed their own arses in the general election. That is all I have to say on the matter..

There are also 3 rallys being organised late April early May.. the media will do their best to play this down but it wont work. Coupled with this the SNP due to their far superior numbers will knock every door! The momentum going into May will be thunderous and the red torys will not be able to do a thing to stop it

flyingrodent
That that front page exists, is a genuine national embarrassment. It makes us look like a nation filled with people who can barely muster the intelligence to wipe our own arses. People in the rest of the UK who see it will be forced to conclude that IQs north of the border have plummeted to round about farmyard animal level. Really difficult to see how this kind of cretinous lunacy can be fumigated, too. When half the country are proudly announcing that they're so butthurt about the referendum result that they're raging with enthusiasm to vote for even a yellow balloon with a face drawn on it, they're going to get a bunch of stuffed shirts and party men who will do nothing but feed them more idiotic nonsense along the lines of that Sunday Herald front page. This election is going to produce a self-replenishing circle of perpetual inanity that will make us all look like the thickest bunch of zoomers Scotland has ever produced. This election is going to produce a self-replenishing circle of perpetual inanity that will make us all look like the thickest bunch of zoomers Scotland has ever produced. Firstly, the Scottish electorate was generally praised for their conduct and engagement during the referendum. Andrew Marr described Scotland as the most politically literate country on the planet. Secondly, 'a yellow balloon with a face drawn on it'? Tell me you're not a Labour supporter - because the irony in that statement would be overwhelming.
