I don't.

That's cool. I can respect that.

As I say, "never" is fine with me, but the UK is pro-democracy so, after an acceptable amount of time has passed (2035 for example), they'd grant Scotland another referendum if it wanted one.

Never saw that coming. You got to Hong Kong on business, come back and you find the forum clown has not got long to live.

Sorry to hear about your illness Reynard, at least you can take heart from the fact that the Euro is going to out last you.

I look forward to any Government trying to stop the will of the people. I hope you have a hole to hide in with your union jack drawers.

Basically, this will never happen again. Sturgeon and Salmond both know it. How Sturgeon breaks the news will be crucial as no doubt it will cause some sort of schism. The wheels will be well and truly off the happy clappy bus.

Throughout my life I've always been aware of a gradual drift towards independence. Remember when George Robertson declared that a devolved Scottish Assembly would : "kill nationalism stone dead"..? It didn't really, did it?

I just don't accept for one moment that this upsurge in support for independence which is presently manifesting itself in a huge increase of membership of the SNP is going to quietly fade away and disappear.

The recent referendum was very encouraging for the Yes movement. It will be interesting to see how much more progress they can make from this point on.

You didn't see the no vote coming either though.

The will of the people has been expressed. The matter is now closed. Unlucky.

Perhaps people like you might try respecting the democratic will of the people instead of getting yourself all bent out of shape continually.

I certainly haven't. Its waxed and waned. George Robertson was a complete arsehole and even as a callow youth I was able to say with certainty that devolution would have led to the clusterfuck of the past couple of years. But thats now over.

The recent referendum has buried independence. You just fail to understand this or refuse to acknowledge it. Either way, its no concern of mine.

Oh I did, I expected 38%, the fact that we got 45% says it all about where we are heading. You keep your head down, keep telling yourself the Euro is dead the Uk is great.

It will bite you on your brit bloomers sooner than you expect.

Says he wants people to respect the democratic will of the people. Wants the issue to be ignored when there is a clear democratic mandate for Scottish independence.

Like I said earlier - credibility slipping away.

No. Im not taking about what I think here at all. You are getting a bit confused as per normal.

I,m telling you what the british state will do. And the British state will simply tell you to get to f**k.

Salmond and the SNP were given everything they wanted at the Edinburgh agreement.

You'll probably understand when you see something missing in the SNP manifesto..

I hope the SNP isn't promising a referendum if elected - as I stated earlier I think to have another referendum so soon would be a mistake.

We lost, and we have to respect that decision.

But to suggest that this will somehow die off is wishful thinking in the extreme. It will continue to grow - and eventually will be a majority (before the campaign even starts). Think of it a bit like the 1979 referendum where those wanting a Scottish parliament never really had a chance - and yet by 1997 it was almost a guaranteed Yes vote. The same thing will happen. Yes there will be opposition to allowing another referendum but if opinion polls are consistently showing support for independence - and if the SNP have a mandate in Holyrood then it would be political suicide for Westminster to forever reject calls.

The biggest reason that old voters tended to vote No is the stronger bonds to the British state. Those bonds are weakening all the time - and in 15 or so years there will be hardly anyone alive who fought in the Second World War.

Youre saying that people who lived through the 70s socialist clusterfuck, then the Thatcher years etc etc are somehow wedded to the british state emotionally? I think you simply misunderstand the fine bullshit detector that most older people have. They tend to know when someone is ripping the pish and Salmond was ripping the pish. In fact, thats a fucking ludicrous statement you just made.

Who said it will die off. I said you'll never be given another referendum. It's as simple as that. The British state considers the matter closed. The people have spoken.

Did advise him a couple of weeks ago he needed a break from this place, glad he's heeded that advice. This place had got the better of him.

He will be back, that's for sure.

Eventually, you'll reach the same position as the Quebecois nats and will be told to get to f**k.
