Always disappointing to lose a good player, but I'm also a fan of Kilday who unfortunately lost his spot in the team due to the exceptional form of Gunning. That makes very little sense. McMenamin wasn't a striker brought in on the cheap, so the problem wasn't failing to bring in a striker - it was with Moore bringing in the werong player and messing with the balance of the team. Lamie, Kilday and Pepper from our defensive pool were out injured and Russell had just been sent off so had a suspension. We needed cover. Was Doyle not played in central defence as a result?
