It's crazy that Swansea can afford to pay someone £60,000 a week.

£5.7 million signing fee and £50k a week. Part of the signing fee may be spread over his contract giving him a chunk of cash and £80000 a week :o

You could buy Swansea for that kind of money :P

Pretty sure Tigres are fucking loaded and generally have a "marquee" big name signing from Europe

Cech to Arsenal is an utterly brilliant deal for them. They've lacked a quality keeper for years. He could play a massive part in them challenging for the title instead of 4th next season.

Koscielny and Metersacker are a top centre back pairing, aren't really going to improve on them giving its not a position with many great players available - look at inflated fees for the likes of Mangala and Jones.

Coquelin definitely stepped up in the holding midfield role so can't see him being replaced.

As for striker, whilst Giroud is underrated, could certainly improve on depth in that area.

They aren't too far away, but will inevitably blow it regardless.

Cech is a great signing for Arsenal, they now have a good base for a title winning side. Another striker and maybe a centre-midfielder and this could be a really good season for them. If they can sort out their inconstant runs during February and March, they could have a really good season.

Agree with most of this. However, Coquelin is not good enough to be the starting and main defensive midfielder for a team wishing to push for the title. No argument that he stepped up but against the better teams, he's simply not good enough.

They do need a top quality player in that position but apart from that they're really not far away.

Kondogbia would have been ideal but €40M seems a bit too much. What a signing for an Inter team hoping to get back into the serious still though.

I have complete faith that Coquelin will be a solid option for them. Only played six months but in those six months he led the league in interceptions, one-on-one duels and was second in tackles made (four behind Zabaleta). It remains to be seen whether he can do it again next season but with someone like that, it's not necessary to spend big in that position.

Mourinho always said they were four "world class" players away from winning the title again. One for every part of the pitch. I'd say Cech, Ozil and Sanchez would fill three of those spots..

Cazorla too is an unheralded player who flies under the radar. I'd definitely consider him more effective and consistent than Fabregas.

As for Coquelin, hard for a player to really excel in that position very early on in his career (Makelele was playing at Celta Vigo when he was 27 - Marcos Senna only joined European football at 26), I think rather than bursting a bank on an incoming older player who might not suit the league, stick with Coquelin and see if he can improve and develop into that role.

There's been plenty of false dawns for Arsenal in that position but Coquelin has all the tools to make it his own.

Sorry, doesn't really make sense because it went onto a new page, but I don't know how to change it!!

Firminho to Liverpool for £29m odds. Seems to be a lot of "Who the f*ck is he comments" off the back of it. From the few games I watched in the Bundesliga in the last couple of years, he is a very decent signing.

Poundstretcher Neymar. Poor finisher. Classic Liverpool signing.

Now now don't be bitter :)

If this is pound stretcher Everton are out the back of a van by the side of the road

Still at least at £29m you're not saddling him with record transfer expectations, couldn't possibly live up to Andy Carroll after all
