A visit to the BBC Scottish football app brings you…

No mention at all of the play off battle, or the Championship play off game.

Really poor. When I was checking scores last night the Hamilton v Inverness game was way down the list. I don't have a problem with having the women's English premier league games quite high up as the women's game is growing. But above the playoff game was Sudan v Tanzania international friendly. Ok, there might be people from these places or with ties to those countries in the UK, but seemed strange to have an international friendly with two teams from another continent higher up the bill than Hamilton and Inverness.

When asked if the court decision goes against Baycup if that impact it would have on him, Martindale replied: “Yeah I think so, yeah.”

Again on the BBC… Who the hell came up with that sentence?

The only thing it's good for is LL/HL scores, though if anyone knows a better alternative I'd gladly switch.

Soccerway for non-league stuff.

Yet more support for my theory that the BBC is mostly staffed by mildly concussed and/or hungover badgers.

Harry Hill will sort them out

BBC site is dreadful for Highland League scores. Fitba North for HL.

I'd hate to come across all SPFL Media watch but is the whole point of the bottom 6 games being at same time on a Sunday not so they can be broadcast?

Yes and no.

They could have been 3pm yesterday and still broadcast.

The top and bottom 6 have finished on different days since 2002/03, except for 2007/08 when the final fixtures were spread around for some reason.

Once Sky decided they wanted the top 6 on Saturday, the bottom 6 was destined for the Sunday.

But today’s two important games should definitely be on TV.

I realise I am just repeating what everyone knows, but the scale in which the Daily Record panders to the old firm is quite frankly disgusting. I accidentally clicked a link that took me to their "football section", I am not going to link to it (let's not give them any extra traffic) instead I have a screenshot. It's large (madam), so that's why it's a link and not embedded into this post..

Daily Record - Sunday 19/05 (Imgur, resized) // Daily Record - Sunday 19/05 (Postimage, you can zoom to full size)

Putting aside the fact they have an odd choice of club crests at the top of the page. Sure, the 12 Premiership teams, plus Scotland, fine.. but also Dundee United, Partick Thistle and ... Hamilton? Are they just there because that's the only crests DR have in their assets folder? Anyway, let's look at all the stories, which by my count is 68 (so close to being a nice number which would be the only redeeming feature here) and which club they are associated with.

You always expect the OF the dominate, but going through the stories I can only find 13 stories that do not either directly relate to the OF. Of those 13, two are repeated both being related to a Hearts player (of those, only one doesn't involve the OF - the piece about Tagawa - while the second repeated story was about Shankland but the headline mentioned Celtic so a bit of a mixed bag), so we are down to 11 simply due to them being duplicates, while 4 are not about football at all. 3 are about boxing, and one is about a random attack on a man at a bus stop that (if you read the article) has nothing to do with football, but is listed within the Celtic FC 'section'. Leaving seven out of 68 that don't have some reference to the OF in the headline.

Of these seven, six are buried at the bottom of the page, in sections labelled Hearts FC and Aberdeen FC. In the Hearts FC 'section' 3 of the 5 are about Rangers as well as that repeated story (so one original story out of five?). While in the Aberdeen FC 'section' the main story is about Martindale and not about Aberdeen at all, although at least the other 4 side stories are actually about Aberdeen (sort of, one is about Dhanda' last game, so County, but the game is against Aberdeen, so maybe a pass mark).

I know that the record is a piece of shit, troll paper, peddling in 'fear and anger' porn, as that is the clickbait lure in modern media, but for their football section they have approximately 90% of the articles being old firm related (could be a little more or a little less dependent on how you count the OF references, while ignoring 75% of the teams in the Premiership, and absolutely nothing in relation to the Championship or below.

But, Ric, we all know this, why bother pointing it out? No reason other than I happened to click on the wrong link and was still astounded by their sycophancy. Yes, I could go to the PDE (Paisley Daily Express, which is nothing more than a satellite site for the record) if I wanted to read about my own team, but that's not the point.

This is apparently one of the top stories in Scottish football this morning.

Ipswich captain Sam Morsy, who led his side back to the Premier League last season, has been spotted wearing a Celtic top in a post-season training session in Dubai.
