If you have ever had a dog or are a dog lover it will make you feel all of the feels and leave you in a mess. Also a shoutout to A Time to Kill and in particular dreamboat McConaughey's closing monologue in the courtroom. Turns out I have actually mentioned this before. Damn my memory.

Always get a lump at the end when the Cat Stevens music plays. When we spot Maude's tattoo, that's also always a really gut-wrenching moment. Just an amazing film - romantic comedy, tragedy and inspirational movie all rolled into one. And all credit to Ruth Gordon and Bud Cort for making such an unconventional love story not only work, but actually trounce any tacky romantic comedies that seem to get lauded as the most touching ever.

GordonD
TV again rather than a film - "In Excelsis Deo" from The West Wing. The closing scenes with the military funeral for the homeless guy (not to mention the revelation that Mrs. Landingham lost her twin sons in Vietnam...)
