Andy Murray Latest and General Tennis Chat

You clearly don't have the first clue about what it takes to be a top class cyclist.

Both Murray and Hoy will have put hours into their sports and both are up there as the best we've produced.

For me though, the greatest individual sportsman we've produced is still Jim Clark.

Very little skill involved it's all about fitness. Yeah clearly he is a very fit guy and has put a lot of work into that but to suggest he is anywhere near the level of some like Andy Murray is absolutely crazy

If Josh Taylor continues to win at the highest level for next couple of years he surely has to be up there

It really doesn't.  I'd wager most users on this forum won't have a clue who Jim Clark was.

Has statue in the village of Kilmany Fife where he was born

And?  Ask anyone in the street in any part of the UK who Jim Clark was and you can guarantee about 90% of folk won't have a clue who he was.

Was he up against the 3 greatest race drivers of all time when he won all these races?

Going by that logic Andy Murray is more of a great than Messi or Ronaldo as they didn't play against Pele or Maradona.

What? 😂

What kind of fucking logic is that?  That's nothing close to what I'm arguing.

It's quite simple, you're basing your argument about Clark on your opinion that he wasn't competing against greats of the sport (ignoring the fact that he is a great of his sport). So rather than compare judge someone on their own merits. Have you never heard of the saying you can only beat what's in front of you?

Guys, Murray is the Scottish/British GOAT of sport.

The fact that’s there’s people trying to argue otherwise is both terrifying and hilarious.

Federer is 40 in a few weeks, still gliding around the court effortlessly. His physical conditioning is something else.
Get the feeling he could be in the top 20 when he was 50, if he fancied it.

No, then.
So he was better than the likes of Schumacher, Prost, Lauda?

Keep digging

Andy Murray is a Scotland’s greatest ever sportsperson. Not whoever the fuck your think is.
