peasy23
Astounding stuff for her to reach the final. f**k Piers Morgan.
GordonS
FFS. The 13th tour level match of her career will be a grand slam final. Across the tournament so far she's won 49% of return points. This kind of stuff shouldn't be possible.
GordonS
That's the first time I've watched a full Raducanu match. She's the finished article. I can't believe her maturity and composure. Top punditry tonight from Martina too. And fk Piers Morgan.
BillyAnchor
What a great win, the final should still be tough

She was born two days before Serena Williams won the third of the four titles in the Serena Slam. They hype has all been about Raducanu, but Fernandez has beaten the 2nd, 3rd and 5th ranked players in this tournament. its all about how they've progressed, but i read elsewhere Raducanu has already beaten Fernandez at Junior Wimbledon
Loki
Raducanu the absolute assassin. Up to 32 in the World Rankings. Despite playing three matches more than Fernandes she has been on court less than her. The only player in history to make a Slam Final from qualifying. First teenage final since Serena vs Hingis in 1999. The best thing about it? The absolute joy that both players get from playing tennis. No matter who wins on Saturday, tennis wins.
TheScarf
I barely watch tennis now having been quite active on this thread over the last decade. I only really get to watch the 3 other slams as they're on Sky. Don't see any other tennis. I might try and see if I can buy this match tomorrow night.
The Derry
Gonna be shite for the teen who loses but what a tournament from the pair of them. You really do love to see it.

Everything ATP and WTA is on Amazon Prime. The Australian Open is still covered by Eurosport, BBC have Wimbledon and ITV have had the French Open but think they’ve lost the rights. Prime have had the US Open the last few years. You’ll get it in Amazon Prime, possibly free trials on offer, but if not 7.99 for a month.

Aye sorry I meant you can still see them via your Sky subscription, not via a streaming service.
Virtual Insanity
Not to be a dick because I'm a big fan of Henman and he gets some unfair stick, but the irony of looking to Tim for inspiration on the verge of getting to a grand slam final surely wasn't lost on anyone.

I missed this. Is that what Raducanu said? She's not going to look to a Jock for inspiration IMO, needs to be a fellow Nigel to keep the press happy.
Lex
Men’s semis:Djokovic v Zverev Medvedev v Auger-AliassimeDjokovic and Zverev both had fairly straightforward quarter final wins yesterday. The young South African Harris did have a set point in the first set against Zverev, missed it, lost the set then head went down. Novak did lose the first set against Berretini, as seems to be his game plan. Then he got his rage on and won the next three 6-2, 6-2, 6-3.

Watch you don't fall off that high horse.. I'm not on any horse, friend. I just find it amusing that she was looking for advice from a serial bottler. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that.
Loki
I don’t think of Henman as a bottler he’s someone who maximised his talents. The only one he potentially bottled would have been 2001, however a physically spent Ivanisevic was saved by the weather. The next day he was greatly improved and Henman couldn’t quite reach the heights of the day before. I don’t really see the issue with Raducanu seeking support from Henman, he’s greatly supported her through her junior career and is a well known figure with LTA. Andy Murray is currently coached by Mark Petchey and Jamie Delgado, he seeks inspiration from them. Go figure.

Bully Wee Villa
Henman happened to be in New York because he's working for Amazon and has been giving her advice, presumably for free. She, quite reasonably, thanked him for his help. Hardly some great anti-Scottish conspiracy. It was the interviewer who brought up Henman because he was courtside. She's hardly going to call him a posh twat. Edited September 10, 2021 by Bully Wee Villa
Soapy FFC
Two teenagers in the final, both guaranteed $1.25 million, with the winner getting $2.5 million. Imagine as a teenager being told, go play one tennis match and if you win I'll give you a million pounds! I hope she continues her awesome run tomorrow, but no matter what matter what, it's been a fantastic tournament for her, and sets her up well for the future.
