It's one or the other though surely? You don't go on the internet looking for a ride/partner and think "Do you know what would make this more exciting? A game of boggle". A dating app is a dating app. Having games on it as well won't be enough to pull tinder/match.com folk away. It would probably get a few hits the same as other dating apps, but it's USP being gaming as well wouldn't add much IMO.

Tinder is more about shagging. Instantly about looks.

Her idea is more about flirting and getting on with someone and at the same time gradually getting to see if they're as attractive as you hope. It's about what's 'unseen' rather than instant gratification. It's the reason porn offers all sorts of weird and wonderful categories rather than just hardcore.

Called it pretty early tonight. Said Joseph was going to breeze it and Charleine and Gary had no chance. The other one was always going to depend on whether he fancied a bit of a gamble or not. Always thought he probably would just to give a contrast for next week. He can still take the safer option and go for Joseph. Fundamentally Joseph and Richard (& Charleine for that matter) were all just scaling up existing businesses and Joseph was the best of them. At least Vana's idea is interesting.

I know I say this every year but I wish they would go back to it being a job. Dragons Den already does the business plan thing perfectly well.

This, basically.

The app isnt going to directly compete with something like Tinder, but there will be plenty of older/professional people etc that see themselves above something like Tinder. They're also the kind of people who spend hours playing games like Candy Crush. Putting the two together, with some tweaks, could work really well. I'd be interested to know how she intends to monetize it though, as thats often the killer when it comes to apps. I also think she got her target wrong - she said they would be targeting "quality men". No dating site has a shortage of men, quality or otherwise. The key is getting enough women signed up

The final episode is going to be a bit of a pointless anti-climax. The whole series is going to come down to whether Sugar fancies a punt on something thats either going to make a lot of money or make none at all, or a fairly safe business thats, pretty much, guaranteed not to lose him his money but is never going to make big bucks.

I've been tipping Joseph and Richard for weeks. Joseph seems nailed on to win and Richard seemed certain to go through after being consistently excellent throughout.

What I didn't know was that his business plan was going to be so full of shit and he was going to mess up the conflict of interest thing so badly.

Im going to input a bit of knowledge here

I do the same line of work as Joseph as im sure you know, most of my work is for rental companies,I do very well from the one company I get work from in that field, he mentioned he does work for a couple of national franchises in property rental, trust me if you have a good relationship with said property management companies it is a fucking licence to print money, factor in the fact he will be based in London and the South East the potential turnover their is frightening.

Invest that 250k wisely in purchasing more fleet, employing more engineers and a bit of advertising it genuinely will start reimbursing that initial investment and moreso within 6 months.... Vana's concept may well crash and burn within that timescale and run out of capital.

It's a no brainer 8)

'Mon the plumbers

Think it's a question of whether Sugar wants to take a gamble on the dating app.

If it was my £250,000 I'd take the plumbing business. Get a couple of large suppliers on board and you're going to be making money quicker than you can count it.

Sorry, but every time I hear Joseph speak I think Rodney & Del Boy, or Arthur Daley. I just can't take him seriously.

Sugar on the other hand has a lot of time for him, but he likes a gamble and he rates Vana's drive and determination. And at the end of the day what's a £250k punt to him?

I'm going for Vana - which guarantees a Joseph win

No one will convince me Vana's idea is a winner. I can see gaming as a good ice breaker for folk on a dating site, but to make the two compulsory on the website is just daft.

I have no idea what Joseph's business plan is. Seriously. It was just edited in such a way that it was obvious he was getting to the final.

I'm beginning to come round to Vana's business plan as the winner.

Joseph is the safe investment, but I think Sugar will go down the line of gambling on a bit of a wacky plan but in a thriving industry. I don't think he cares that much if it blows up in his face.

The thing is with both their business plans but specifically Vana's is it just needs to be strong enough to be a successful launch for them to be crowned winner.

I'm sure it was Dr Leah who won and on the Your Hired show Sugar basically said something along the lines of "hard work starts Monday, we're changing this, changing that etc"

If he sees potential in it and has identified changes to make it stronger and more viable as a business, then as long as she doesn't cock up the final task she'll win. However, the business they setup and run will be different to what is presented to us in the show.
