Crùbag
I'm sure the Heil will be equally scathing when it comes to exposing all the MPs and Lords earning far more than £500 a day for dodgy directorships and "consultancy" Bad, bad stuff even by the Mail standards. Worse of all is that blubberbucket Jackie Baillie is in cohoots with it. Since when has the Labour Party ever been so close to Daily Mail FFS?! No wonder they're dying. Trying to make political capital from an MP working over Xmas to save lives is desperate stuff. As to the 2nd job smokescreen, would you rather some surgeon worked in recess, over the winter holidays to save lives or some sleazy Tory/ Labour drone coining it as some lapdog for an arms company? lichtgilphead
Maybe if the health service was getting run properly they wouldn't have to call upon MP's do emergency work for them you halfwit. Is it the SNP's fault that surgeons are occasionally unwell then? She was covering for an ex-colleague who suddenly fell ill. Would you rather that the patients had been sent away until the other surgeon got better? Granny Danger
Did You see Keiza trying to go toe to toe with Nicola on the Scottish NHS today at FMQT. At one stage I thought I might have to call the SSPCC There should be a Responsible Adult appointed to look after her.

Would you rather that the patients had been sent away until the other surgeon got better? What heroics from the SNP, so there is no provision for people "suddenly falling ill" is there? Yes it is the SNP's fault if there is no safety net in place. Having to be reliant on parliamentarians to stand in would surely tend to indicate that there are colossal failings within the NHS. But then, no doubt that will be the fault of the English.

But then, no doubt that will be the fault of the English. There is a safety-net provision for a staff member falling ill. They usually hire agency staff. At short notice, that's rather expensive. I imagine it's not as expensive as keeping a bunch of NHS surgeons on 24 hour emergency standby in case of unexpected illness though. If that was the situation, you would be on here suggesting "SNP waste money. SNP baaaad"
Baxter Parp
The other parties didn't get all sanctimonious about second jobs though, did they? Cosgrove missed the point on Radio Scotland earlier, it's irrelevant whether she was doing surgery or working in a shop, it's highlighted because of this...... Glen is not the sharpest tool in the box. A tool though. We're talking about a breast cancer specialist. Not ten a penny. Imagine the fury if she had refused? Galbraith wasn't a member of a party that made a song and dance about second jobs. And again, if the NHS are reliant on MP's helping out in emergencies that would tend to indicate the it's not getting run properly. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril mobile app You really are painfully thick. The "song and dance" was a comment Pete Wishart made before the previous election. And helping out an ill colleague and potentially saving lives over the Christmas holidays is not a "second job". Still, I hope you and Slab continue with the SNPbad theme, it only shows you up to be out of touch and puerile.
