Bishop Briggs
^ Big deal! That's just a typical Commons exchange. Some people on here need to get out more. Or get a sense of perspective.

Baxter Parp
Someone made a good point the other day about the populist lunacy of the past wee while (Brexit, Trump). None of it would have happened without the support of the conservative/centre-right establishment.
NotThePars
Anyone that can tell you what a typical Commons exchange is is a massive VL and shouldn't be telling other people to get out more.
Cerberus
The ending of the Dubs amendment is pretty shameful. This is a good time to end it though. The media are far more interested in what Trump had for breakfast than Westminster condemning weans to certain death.

Too late… Britain’s entire fleet of attack subs ‘out of service’https://www.rt.com/uk/376926-navy-submarine-fleet-action/ The Royal Navy’s entire fleet of attack submarines – seven nuclear-powered hunter-killers – is allegedly out of service due to ongoing repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns, British media report, citing sources. UK Prime Minister Theresa May is said to have no clue about the problem because Ministry of Defence (MoD) chiefs “fear her reaction,” the Sun reported on Friday, adding that it is believed to be the first time in decades Britain has no fully operational attack submarines at beck and call.

Antlion
The "conservative woman" on Marr (fresh from her seat on QT) claiming that no one should "publicly trash their national interest". Maybe she should tell her colleague Ruthie.

WaffenThinMint
Think you may want to see this: https://www.buzzfeed.com/sirajdatoo/ukip-fakey-fakey-accounts?utm_term=.iaxJJBbzd#.ajR11dreA The DavidJo52951945 appeared on Twitter with less than a remarkable coincidence at the point in time concerns began being raised in the Labour Party they were losing more votes to UKIP than the Tories were back in 2013. Considering Labour's history of gutter scraping dirty tricks (ask any SNP activist from the 1970s & 80s about the "Scottish Nazi Party" slurs on the doorsteps), wouldn't put this one past them considering how much they've got the wind up of perhaps losing the seat mainly thanks to the only star turn of the whole dull by-election - Tariq Mahmood (who should have been UKIP's candidate had they any sense, yes yes silly question!) - looking like he's swinging the Muslim vote over (ironically on local Muslim concerns over the BNP's appearence on the hustings where they were hoping to ruin it for the Kippers by splitting their vote!) That top leaflet by the way was the handiwork of Colin Jordan "National Socialist Movement", the chief race hate rabble rouser back in the 1960s whose protegy John Tyndall proved ten times worse, although there's some dispute as to where it was used, Lambeth and Croydon both being cited (some have cited Smethwick, but newspapers of the period show both Jordan & Tyndall's separate nazi mobs only began running leaflets with "cleaned up" versions of the infamous Smethwick slogan after Gordon-Walker's win, not before) Edited February 13, 2017 by WaffenThinMint

NotThePars
That updated UKIP poster remindsme of Stewart Lee talking about political correctness. Sooky
Predictions for the 2 by-elections next week? With regards to Stoke, Labour should hold on as it seems Nuttall has been a massive liability. Copeland looks like it might be close. Tories are apparently pretty confident, and LD sources also suggest that the Tories will take it. Might depend on Labour turnout on the day. From pretty much the day after Reed resigned, the Tories have been hitting it constantly with leaflets showing how Corbyn is anti-nuclear. The big question is, would allowing the governing party to gain a by-election seat for the first time since the Falklands War in 1982 be enough to see Corbyn go?

Stoke - Labour should now hold as Nuttall should have killed the UKIP vote, if UKIP still do well I truly despair for humanity. Copeland - Even if it a Tory win it won't effect Corbyn as he may have Stoke to claim vistory in and even if the PLP want rid the party memebrship as a whole won't have changed enough for him to lose. Could be some infighting with the PLP again showing no confidence and the membership backing.
