The Partick Thistle thread

Just the standard Dools celebration will do. As well as it being his 100th goal, I believe it will make him the top scorer of league goals in our history. A truly remarkable feat that he's on the verge of achieving. Without a shadow of doubt, a modern day Thistle legend.

Our top scorer, Willie Sharp, scored 229 goals.

He must be way in excess of 100 league goals surely?

Kris Doolan is on 98 goals now. Any suggestions for 100th goal celebration. He is on Soccer FM podcast being recorded later. Suggestions on twitter SoccerFM or @comedyray

He'll have a special 100 t-shirt on under his jersey, which he'll be yellow carded for lifting up and showing, thereby demonstrating what an emotionless bunch of drones our game is governed by.

Think Willie missed out due to starting with the Jags just before WWII. While there was football not officially recognised. Willie Newall was also affected.

According to The Jukebox Rebel on WAT Dools is also the third top scorer in SPFL Premiership history with only Griffiths and Rooney ahead of him.

A quick question on Liam Lindsay. Since Scotland have a friendly coming up and the Thistle defence has conceded just 6 goals in the last 12 games, do you think Lindsay should get a senior call-up? The alternatives are hardly impressive and he's been a regular for one of the league's better defences for almost two years now and seems to have eradicated his tendency to make mistakes. I personally think he should.

Ridiculous suggestion

How could a diddy team player cope and handle playing in front of a Scottish crowd? We must resort to experience and defenders with pace..like Gordon Greer or Grant Hanley..

(It's the same bullshit with Banzo), he deserves to at least be in the conversation but because he isn't in one of the medias portrayed "bigger" clubs, won't get a mention

Think Jagscast highlighted the hypocrisy with the Motherwell youths always getting picked (due to McGhee) and promptly having their arse felt in the league and national level

TBF if they were saying that then it's nonsense as Cadden initially didn't get call ups and only got into the u21s due to other players pulling out and you're going down to the u16s with Jamie Semple to find another Motherwell player (unless we're including a player on loan at the club too) in the Scotland set up.

Lindsay won't get called up and there'll be some tears and snotters over it when really it's just a shite friendly against Canada that no one cares about since he wouldn't be getting anywhere near the competitive match a few days later.

Bannigan is a different case entirely. Scotland actually have some relatively good centre midfielders, certainly a number of players playing above the level Bannigan can.

Lindsay should be in consideration on the basis that Scotland have about 2 centre backs coming through and the other one is currently injured.

The current CB options are the worst I have ever seen, for Scotland, I think. Lost all faith in Strachan after Lithuania, so not ever expecting Lindsay to be called up, unless he signs with a Championship team and playing regular games.

I think Lindsay has gone from great potential last season to currently one of the best players in the team. I don't want him to go, but perhaps we need the money, if he does I hope it's a shockingly large figure.

I don't expect Bannigan to be in the squad but I do feel he deserved to be in the conversation when there are a handful of drop outs

It wasn't so much Cadden (who I personally rate) but it was 2 CBs

If it was just "a pointless friendly" the squad was for, Lindsay would have a chance, but it's also the squad for a very important qualifier.  I can't see him changing the squad all too much for that.

Maybe we'll be surprised and he'll get called up, especially given the lack of options we have in the position.  I'd be pretty surprised though.

Heard he'll probably be back for next season, but there's not much chance of him recovering in time for any games this season.

Cheers, had hoped he might make a sub appearance at the end of the season, but perhaps not.

Will be nice to have no long term injuries next season.
