throbber
While its hilarious to see the meltdown from CK i think he is still missing the point of the film being largely about people living in the past and no people are as obsessed with the past as these sort of bigots that it pokes fun at. To say that it is an attempt to put working class no voters down is also a bit rich considering the way at which the main characters are portrayed, they aren't exactly covering themselves in glory are they? He is a prehistoric neanderthal buffoon, the kind of arsehole who cracks one liners in the pub and then gazes around to see who is laughing, aside from all that the vile newspaper he writes for sums him up nicely, the pair of them are well suited. It amazes me that he's made a career out of being unfunny.

throbber
I actually don't mind Tam Cowan but didn't like that review at all and he came across as a p***k, never even properly said what he thought was wrong with the film.

WullieBroonIsGod
I remember many moons ago reading the book and the scam of ripping of Rangers (rip) season ticket holders. I think Sick Boy is nobbing a lassie working in the ticket office. Was not expecting it to make it to the film version but was howling with laughter at the no more catholics song.I loved the whole thing. Ewen Bremner stole the show for me. Would loved to have seen more of Shirley Henderson too.Agree on Kelly Mcdonald being there feeling shoehorned in. Her appearance in the trailer had a bigger impact than her in the film. Difficult to do but if they could have kept her part in the film a secret it might have been better.Sad at times, funny at others. Boyle has done a brilliant job here. throbber
Not sure what more input was required from Dianne, she was quite clearly not someone that was going to be duped by the likes of Renton once she had grown up a little so I actually think her contribution was about right. Would have been nice to get a flash of her tits and bush again I suppose.
1320Lichtie
Thought the 1690 scene was class. Like someone said they could've made it much worse and sung about being up to their knees in catholic blood or something. They got let off lightly. JamieT1314
Watched this last night, enjoyed it on the whole although some of it really didn't work for me. The accents were all over the shop, the part with begbie and the viagra was a needless cheap laugh and begbie on the whole just didn't feel like the same character, didn't have the same impact despite playing a much more central role. The best way I can describe this is in the first film when Renton is in London and sorting himself out and the door goes, "Francis Begbie". You feel that moment in the pit of your stomach, never had the same feeling of dread this time watching him.
