Motherwell FC - A Thread For All Seasons

I think apple TV would buy that sitcom. Grimshaw as a guest star, a side arc about Las coming to terms with being usurped as the housewives favorite,  and Jim Goodwin as the baddie that tries to kidnap them. We have a hit on our hands.

Not sure if it's a question that's been asked/answered on here already, but was there any word from the club on uptake for the free season tickets?

Don't know if it was through that, or just larger numbers than usual due to it being one of the first games back to relative normality, but the area of the Cooper where I sit was noticeably busier at the Dundee game than it would normally have been for a similar fixture pre-covid.

Not even taking bets that if you pull a bedknob in VanVeen’s bedroom a secret door opens to his 50 shades sex dungeon.

Buy half a dozen go-pros from eBay, dot then round and charge £10 a month sub, Mbappe will be within our reach on a precontract by January.

Think you should get your idea copyrighted pronto, think someone's been on here stealing your ideas.

Superb stuff from Motherwell sending emails to fans who missed the game to check in if they’re doing ok. The ‘Well leading by example in UK football once again.

Feel like Dunfermline should do something similar, but instead you get a wellbeing email if you actually attended the game.

“You alright? Spending £20 on that, you fucking weirdo.”

What can we say? We exist to improve people's lives.

Given <everything else> that the club does there's zero doubt that this is coming from a genuine place. It's something that's pretty difficult to pull off without seeming slightly weird and intrusive and "Big Brother-y" (because it is slightly weird and intrusive and "Big Brother-y") but fair fucks to the club for just going with it despite that.

Ultimately if you shake off the cynicism, you're making headway into making people feel valued and also understand wants/needs of your fanbase.

People talk a lot about "fan engagement" and Chairman Flao's reply to @Busta Nut's not entirely serious tweet kind of highlights the broader aspect of what we're trying to achieve. On a secondary level it's market research to find out why they weren't able to make the game and if it's a reason that the club can address eg: if the ST holder didn't feel safe, can we do something about that. That's the good shit right there.

Actually "reaching out" and asking your core base questions and digging into the data is a very smart move.

Pretty much sums up my feelings too. Sounded like a great idea when I read about it, but when I saw the actual email it seems a bit creepy, and borderline data-protection-infringey (did you really give them permission to monitor your attendance at games when you bought your season ticket? Maybe, I don't have one). But it seems to be getting a lot of positive feedback, so hopefully they'll tweak things a bit if required and try to keep the creepiness to a minimum in future.

I’d imagine some of the responses were along the lines of ‘I was at that shit-show at Dens a couple of weeks before, and f**k watching that again’.

It's not really surprising that they're using data like this. And tbh what everyone's carrying around in their pocket 24 hours a day likely gives away more information than whether you turned up at Fir Park on a Saturday or not.
