capt_oats
Well...that's interesting. FYI: He scored 20 in a season for Alexander's Scunthorpe side in 16/17. Edited July 11, 2022 by capt_oats
Busta Nut
again, meh! These folk might work out great for us and get my full backing but I am certainly not excited by anything I've seen this preseason.
Handsome_Devil
Interesting indeed. Another attacker was needed, another who isn't an out and put number nine...less so. Not totally against it but hardly what you'd have considered the priority.

ZX1886
I’m just relieved we didn’t splash out on Louis Moult.
Handsome_Devil
Also interesting(ish) he played with KVV at Scunny. Wonder if 'friends of Kev' the updated signing policy!

If he could do something similar at Parkhead and surpass the Jimmy Scott goal, I'll commission a statue of him at the main entrance myself.

Then I also think back to times I was genuinely excited about a signing and they have all been baws. Mccormack, ojama, Bigi to an extent. Hopefully it turns out to be a shrewd bit of business, at least he has some sort of pedigree, under Alexander as well. I must admit I quite liked the Spittal signing as well. Have we gotten far too used to total upheaval every summer? Also seems a bit of a shithouse, so there's that. capt_oats
Tbh, he's someone I wondered if we might be interested in when he was out of contract last summer given his previous record with Alexander at Fleetwood and Scunthorpe but he ended up at Salford. I mean 45 goals and 45 assists from left mid. Fair fucks. Edited July 11, 2022 by capt_oats
Gianfranco
Maybe he’ll take the Goss spot on the left of the midfield 3. I’d still like an out and out striker to compete with KVV for a start.

This exactly how I should have said it really, hopefully he does well and captures a bit of his form from 5/6 years ago. I won't hold my breath though. i kinda like Spittal too. It's just seemed a boring summer.

Saying that, we are probably due to two bumper documentaries on the pitch and on the time in Austria.. Seen this on twitter as well, if it gets you anymore excited haha.

If we end up with the depth chart where Efford is the new Amaluzor - last choice emergency injury/corona cover - we'll have boosted ourselves up front even without going mental. Fair enough. But I find only having one genuine number nine bizarre (and have done since January).
capt_oats
Fwiw, he's been introduced as an "attacker" in the news story but he's been added to the squad list as a midfielder which makes far more sense given we'd lost O'Hara, Donnelly and Shaw from last season's squad. Going by Greg Marshall's report he definitely sounds closer to someone like Goss rather than any of the 3 who left. Would be interesting to know who his #numbers/profile compare to up here. @RandomGuy. do you happen to have a Josh Morris radar to hand? Thinking about it a bit more it's interesting that he seems to be explicitly a left mid. Just chucking this out there but is there a chance that he takes that spot ahead of Carroll/McGinley? one m in Motherwell
This is all great news. I’m not really bothered how good he is considering he’s:a) Patter, given that goalb) A clever player ie a Shithouse like Slatteryc) Pals with Kev
