Gerrard confirming in his press conference this morning that we’ve rejected a bid for Kent. Said it was nowhere near his valuation.

Gerrard's claims that Kent is not for sale undermined by referring to an unacceptable 'opening bid'.

Gerrard's face and demeanour in the presser was even more hangdog than usual, and that's saying something.

Again I dont see what the big deal is. This is football and it's a business. Every footballer has a price. Celtic do it all the time, buy low sell high... if Sevco are  to compete with Celtic they need to try copy their business model. They seem to be trying. At he moment Celtic are just far far far better at it.

Only problem with Kent is, if we are to believe what rangers paid for him what the f**k kinda fee are they expecting...?

Doesnt help that since sevcos introduction to the bottom tier their PR and media side of things has been an absolute shambles...

Surely they are hoping to invite a further offer from Leeds ??

And I’d expect playing in the EPL for Bielsa would be attractive to Kent.

Rangers and Celtic can talk all they want about being big clubs, I won’t dispute they are, but at the end of the day all the players with them are either looking to move to an elite league or aren’t good enough to move to an elite league so will be at the clubs longer.

Everyone knows each player has a price that will eventually be accepted. Gerrard saying he is not for sale is a soundbite trotted out by managers day in, day out purely to appease fans while also attempting to drive up the price.

After the green grots obsession with Castore and the quality/delivery of their shirts, quite amusing to read today that lots of the grot are now furious with JD Sports and Hermes for failed deliveries, or some who’ve received shirts unhappy with Adidas as their shirts have frayed or discoloured in the washing machine.

It was the journalist that said the "hands off" quote,Slippy G looked tired in the interview he knows he can't lose the creative players in his squad.

That’s not quite correct. You can see from this clip below that Gerrard himself says the message is “hands off” and he then went on to say “not for sale”.

Of course, this means very little in the grand scheme of things, because if Leeds come in with an offer that is too good to turn down, it’ll get accepted.

Slippy G was just repeating what the journalist said he put the words in his mouth plus Goldson scoffed when asked about Kent being a future England internationalist.
Scottish media at their best.

But then he went on to say he is not for sale... I’m not sure what point you are trying to prove here but it’s literally in that video.

The whole big/small club thing has pretty much been nullified by TV money and dodgy foreign investment ... What constitutes a big club nowadays? I would say Celtic and to a lesser extent rangers are bigger than half the clubs in the ingurlandshire premiership but neither can compete financially because of the tv money and Asian/ Russian/ American  investment..

And yes Celtic and again to a lesser extent rangers are used as stepping stones but Celtic do very well from it. Rangers need to follow follow their lead...

Apologies if I got the wrong guy here. Weren’t you the guy boasting of hiding Celtic birthday cakes in Asda?

Normal behaviour

Benny has definitely never turned down a cake of any sort!

Journalist's making up their own headlines isn't knew plus helping sevco with the perception of a bid from down south goes that extra mile.

Celtic are very good at the stepping stone thing. Armstrong, Dembele and Tierney in the last 3 years and Edouard will be next. They are also good at retaining guys like Brown, Forrest, McGregor who whilst clearly not good enough or have the desire to play at a higher level, they are consistently good at domestic level.

So are you saying a bid wasn’t received? Jesus, not this again.

Whether you believe there is a bid or not it makes no difference,Kent leaving is another question.
The fabrication of bids and mounts paid for players is part of the game.
The part the media play is very questionable.

Are Leeds happily playing along with this fabrication?
