dogmc
He looks to drive at defenders at every opportunity. And that's a refreshing trait to see in Scotland teams. There's not been a player like him seen in a long time; tall, strong and quick. Would definitely have him starting these qualifiers. It's clearly his first instinct to try something and his enthusiasm for running at defenders will make him difficult to defend against. If nothing else he will win free kicks n with ritchie hitting deliveries like he did last night it's all good. He's not the finished article but he's still offering something we haven't had in a long time
haggisbeastie
Personally I thought 9/11 was very bad. We're a divided nation - what can we expect?

Guest DAVIDB69
Was a refreshing change playing a proper young player ok he wasn't up against much but he had some moments.Rather this than capping players at 27 and referring to them as young players
LinkinFighter
I think Ritchie Burke Snodgrass are our best 3 in behind the striker. I would continue with them for the foreseeable.

Gordopolis
yup, pity we dont have a pure gut instinct penalty box predator, snodgrass sitter (the header) last night was screaming out for a striker to be on the end of it, but aye they 3 were fantastic last night Trying not to get carried away but it feels like we can fairly safely chop and change between Martin, griffiths, McCormack, Rhodes, Fletcher etc as long as we've got Burke, snodders and Ritchie behind them. Any striker would prosper in front of those three But yeah imagine we had a Scottish Lewandowski... Drool
sergie's no1 fan
Whilst Snoddy and Ritchie were incredible last night we have to remember Malta were rotten defensively. I can't see them helping us out. Will England give Ritchie any room to work his magic? I can see Dier sticking to Snoddy like glue.Good to have a bit of confidence in the team again though.

There's more Under 22s who've been capped under Strachan as well.

Other than Greer I don't think any of our squad were older than 25 when they got their first cap.Of course facts don't fit the ludicrous narrative that we somehow wait much longer to cap our players than everyone else.

This recent intake is good though, just hope they kick on.

The Grass Is Greener.
This'll probably go to the other extreme in 12 months and people will be calling for more experienced players.

He has shown that if he thinks they're good enough, he'll pick them. Burke should keep his place in the team for the upcoming fixtures. Not because he's young, or so he can gain experience from it, but purely because right now he is one of our best players in his position. He is better than Anya or Forrest.
