Could go for a while yet this one. It's the toing and froing that makes tennis great.

Sooky
A Nadal-Federer final makes Murray going out a bit better.Never thought I'd see the day again!
Elixir
Gutted for Grigor. It really is like we've been teleported back ten years. Didn't manage to catch any of the match. How much of a threat could Federer and Nadal be this year? Or are they mainly smelling blood with Andy and Novak out?
Ira Gaines
I don't watch that much tennis anymore. Even when Murray plays. But there's something about Nadal vs. Federer in that final on Sunday morning that means I'll definitely be watching it.

Probably the dream final for organisers and sponsors. IMO, anyone that gets to a slam final or wins a slam should be treated as a threat for the next 6 to 12 months. It's been a strange tourney, none of the top 5 or 6 appeared to bring their A game to the party but you can only beat whose in front of you. It's only a week or so ago that I boldly told my son no matter how good Federer and Nadal look neither of them are now good enough to go all the way in a slam. Not really fussed who wins so long as they both put on a show. Tennis is a strange game, if you were to make 5 comments in-play about 20 games every week you'd be made to look like a fool on 10 or 15 occasions almost every week. peasy23
Serena wins 6 4 6 4 Score makes it look quite close but never at any point did I think Serena wasn't going to win in straight sets.

He royally fucked this up It seems like he's worked so hard prior to the last two slams and it's effected him quite a bit in them. Think he needs a good break, which he should hopefully be getting now. No Olympics this year as well will help and he'll probably play one less 500 event in the autumn. Loki
Every commitment player (top 30) has to play 4 500 events. Murray is playing Dubai, Monte Carlo and Queens (Monte Carlo is an optional Masters that if played counts to the 500 commitments). So he will only have to play one after the US Open. His schedule for the year has been announced. With the only exception a 500 post US Open to be added (more likely to be Beijing or Tokyo). The rest of his year looks like: Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Rome, French Open, Queens, Wimbledon, Coupe Rogers Cincinatti, US Open, Shanghai and Paris. Serena won rather easily today. She played within herself to get that win. Moves past Steffi Graf, but still think Steffi Graf's achievements in 1988 alone elevate her above Serena, despite Serena holding all four on two occasions. Certainly is one of the four greatest in the open era in the women's game with Graf, Navratilova and Evert.

Her main rival seles was gone for a substantial period due to attack. Not sure steffi would have got 22 if seles had been around more. Serena for me
