Ive been trying to remember a certain type of crisps from yesteryear but fucked if I can find them on t'interweb.  They were kind of wholegrain, flat (maybe Disco sized) but I think they had a scalloped edge so kind of flower shaped.  Bacon flavour and they came in foil bags (probably the only ones at the time).  Im talking late 70s early 80s, football crazy era.

Anybody?

these?

Well before my time, but I love these old crowd pictures, such as East End Park in 1968:

An honourable mention for those old style giant floodlights, the type you could see from almost anywhere in town and lit up entire skies on match nights. Seems my local rarities at Pittodrie will be disappearing in the not too distant future too though. [emoji20]

Now this is the ultimate blast from the past for me. Many an evening drawing my very own Anglo Scottish Cup first round.  Then using these:

To decide the games.

Evidently bring poorer, I cut out bits of paper with the team names on them, drew them out of a pot (that you'd normally heat soup in) and then just roll a single dice to decide the score. Six would be a nil just to keep it more believable (like Meadowbank winning the cup). Simpler times.

Brilliant. I feel we are spoilt nowadays with all the different football from all over the world we can easily watch now.

But as a nine year old in 1994 it was a genuine thrill to get some more football on tv never mind that it was foreign football.

Ronaldo, Weah, Maldini, Del Piero, Vieri, Baggio, Lee Sharpe - it was a genuine thrill to watch the players play.
