Not yet believe there will be an official statement regarding league structure/accepted teams next week or when all teams have confirmed acceptance and payed fees.

Without trying to stir the pot of the pros and cons etc.
It does appear fair to state the fact that geography has been pretty key in the applications made.
No east region team from north of cowdenbeath.

The boundary's at the Tay for LL which is probably a factor, no?

Not being funny here, but how many additional teams are there north of Cowdenbeath but south of the Tay?! Off-hand I can only think of Lochore and Dundonald (who have made a deferred application for 2019-20), St Andrews, and then right at the very top Tayport and the Perth clubs. If you went due east there'd be a few around Kirkcaldy too.

Of the 12 reported to have joined you've 3 from East Lothian, 3 from Midlothian, 1 from Edinburgh, 1 from West Lothian, 3 from Fife and 2 from Stirlingshire; deferrals from Dundonald (Fife) plus Clydebank (Dunbartonshire); which is a pretty wide spread. Given there are no Juniors in the Borders, plus I think Sauchie are the only club in Clackmannanshire, the only area actually unrepresented would be Perthshire.

Well Dundonald were going to but have deferred. Lochgelly, Lochore, Kirkcaldy, Thornton and Glenrothes all said no in the survey so it's no surprise to see them stay in the Juniors. Tayport and St Andrews said yes and already go to Dunbar and Kirriemuir so travel shouldn't be an issue stopping them joining the EoS

As you can see Hibee quite a few clubs as Ginaro mentions. Also Newburgh.

In Perthshire Kinnoull, Jeanfield and Scone.

I was not trying to score points.  Just had noticed the EOS will not actually have to extend it's geographical border of clubs with the new intake.

See my post in the Juniors of what may be left

We're looking a bit lonely out in West Lothian  8)

West Lothian is like ayrshire burnie,ex mining towns/villages steeped in junior fitba.

They'll not move over to senior fitba until they hav no other choice !!

Which will be fun particuarly in Whitburn,( bumped the idea of going into the east super league when it was first set up) i can feel the seethe emanating just now from the fitba social club doon the street at all those who hav now left!!

Let's just say it's a very "traditional" area as far as fitba is concerned.  Whitburn are an example of what happens when you are suspicious of change.

The EoS may operate with two Divisions of 14 clubs, both at Tier 6 for ONE SEASON only. Thereafter the top 7 from each would form the Premier (tier 6) from 2019/20, and the bottom 7 will form Division One (tier 7). This would be consistent with the EoS's earlier views about having a level playing field for clubs in  2018/19.  If so, there would be a play-off between the 2 Divisional winners to decide which is the champion club.  If correct as a temporary arrangement, it would be a fair and competitive to all the EoS clubs.

NB : this is not an official EoS position, as consultation with both existing & new clubs will take place, although it may have been discussed at yesterday's EGM ?

Excellently planned. I assume 16 and 16 would be the preferred long term ?

As far as I can recall, 16 + 16 was a suggestion.  If correct, there would be 5 or 6 EoS vacancies for 2019/20, ideally to be filled by any super league applicants next year.

Whether or not a 3rd division would be added at that stage, very much depends on subsequent discussions between the parties concerned, and full consideration by the SFA's Pyramid 'Working Group'.

At this stage I don't think the exact number for next season can even be said with any certainty either. You could get anything from 0 net movement from LL (Hawick down/Kelty up) to 1 gain (Hawick down/Threave up... or Hawick + Vale down/Kelty up) or even 2 gain (Hawick + Vale down/Threave up). Throw in the rumours of some late applicants, or the deferred clubs, or whatever and any conference-style model at tier 6 for next season could end-up with 13s or 14s or even 15s or 16s.

Anyway the Edinburgh Evening News has just "revealed" the new clubs in an apparent "exclusive":

A wee map of where the teams that have applied and where this seasons EoS teams are based - will be interesting to see how they split this, that's a lot of trips to Edinburgh for Dunipace whichever way it works out.

They’d have had a good few trips to deepest Ayrshire if they’ve stayed put!
