Might have been an idea to have had the same church, education system and legal system when they were making this so called one nation state.

Because having those separated kind of makes it look more like a political union between two separate nations tbqh.

On a forum that is pretty much a shrine to The Big Tax Case, the idea that Scotland's legal system is entirely separate is risible.

Not to mention the inclusion and then detachment of another separate kingdom to this unitary nation-state, which apparently never happened.

I didn't read it but that Scotland and England have shared laws - in some areas  - is beyond dispute.

Taxation and immigration are two areas that stand out.  UK Law would make sense since, of course, we've been one nation since 1707.
