Pharos
19 minutes ago, Drew Brees said: from the scotsman Best Twitter reactions to the latest Rangers statement Rangers have released another emotive club statement as Ibrox side reacted to news that Hibs will cut their allocation for the last game between the sides at Easter Road. Seeing as Scottish football Twitter loves nothing more than a statement from the Light Blues, there has been a lot of discussion on the matter through the night after it was released at 10.10pm on Tuesday evening. WHAT RANGERS FANS SAID @Strabane_GSTQ: Hit them where it hurts Bears. How dare they show such a lack of respect to the most successful team ever. What goes around comes around. Thanks for the clarity Rangers. @algardiner63: When any team comes to Ibrox give them NOTHING let our fans have all IBROX plus our fans dont go to away games let them suffer @murdoch_charles: This is a provocation by Hibernian FC, it’s outrageous really. We all know the are perfectly entitled to do so but it’s unbelievable nonetheless, we should refuse our allocation . @_wotta: When I see the words ‘club statement’ I cover my eyes and read through the cracks in my fingers. @weegeg12345: So, what, will we give Hibs less seats than we do now? They can’t even fill them! I don’t get the threat. Can someone explain it? WHAT OTHER FANS SAID @CrumbsTMT: Rangers statement writers must get paid per word. @Jim__Douglas: Rangers should move their statements releases to a subscription model. They’re so unintentionally hilarious, I think I’d pay. @RFBorthwick: I, for one, am absolutely delighted by Hibernian’s decision to cut the allocation of Rangers fans attending the match. They can sell their own tickets out easily so why compromise their own support to pander to another. Sit doon Traynor ya mess. @Chrisfinn2703: The white, blue and riddest of all the necks in all the world. Like Hibs or anyone owes you f*****g anything. @AgentScotland: Rangers give Hibernian 1.7% of the capacity of Ibrox, Hibs are willing to give Rangers 10% of available seats at Easter Road, this poor me poor me has to stop, utterly disingenuous & a shoddy attempt by the board at playing to the gallery, anything to deflect from their failings.@stramashing: This coming from a club who houses the majority of away fans in a p**** wee corner. A corner where you are pelted by coins, hot drinks and spit for the best part of two hours. Outrageous hypocrisy from the genius PR team at Ibrox THE JOKES @Oldfirmfacts1: Congratulations to anyone who had ‘beggars belief’ in Rangers Statement Tantrum Bingo @MarcJWallace: Death, Taxes and Hibs causing Rangers to p*** and moan.@pieandbov: The dogs bark, and the caravan issues a statement. @goddamnpal: King......passes it to Alastair Johnston.....to Douglas Park......slips it to JAMES TRAYNOR, he edits it and it’s LIVE and they’ve done it! Another statement! At twenty past ten on a Tuesday night! The fans are going wild! Awww ya beautyyyyy @garyhenderson1: “Right Jum that’s the statement drafted” “Have you said it beggars belief?” “Eh no but I mean it already reads quite well and it doesn’t really fit in anywh...” “Just throw it in out of context at the end of a paragraph” Absolute respect to RFBorthwick in that one for a balanced and mature response then signing off with "Sit doon Traynor ya mess". Outstanding work

Dee Man
Unless I've read this wrong, Rangers are having a thinly veiled pop at every team in Scotland for benefiting from 'the blue pound' while they made their way through the leagues, yet in the very same statement are having a pop at Hibs for not taking advantage of 'the blue pound'. They are a very confused bunch.

Surely 'unofficial approach' or 'sounded out via his agent'. That's what I'm hoping for in the forthcoming episodes of The Statements.
nsr
Have we reached the stage where Celtic are so far ahead that Hibs are Rangers' genuine rivals in green? Where does that leave Hearts? On the side with no-one to play with? Sad.

On the side with no-one to play with? Sad. No. Thats the beauty of it. Hibs do nothing to encourage the "rivalry". They just wait until they are due to play Rangers, somehow find yet another way to cause megaseethe and statements, then swagger off with the 3 points, leaving detached nappers everywhere.

I hope at some point in the not too distant future, Rangers will give up on us, and treat us with the same depression, apathy, and resignation they display to the now untouchable Celtic. When that time comes, another team will have to step up and get handed the torch as Keeper of the Megaseethe. The Clarke/Killie juggernaut looks like a promising fit - they can beat Rangers, they can do it at Ibrox, and they can bring enough away fans there that they can irk everyone around them by enjoying beating Rangers a little too much, and their manager is suspected of having gone to the wrong school in the past. Sadly, their stadium is too big to reasonably cut away allocations, but they can surely find their own unique way of inadvertently triggering outrage. jamamafegan
I hope the Hibs trolling of Rangers never stops. The Hibs board must be loving it behind the scenes.

They are a very confused bunch. When Sevco came through the lower leagues the patronising comments revolving around the 'blue pound' were dreadful. It was strongly suggested that the team being relegated and missing out on the 'blue pound' the following season would likely finish bottom of that division due to how much money the other teams would have.

That's not even a number! I'm not sure you can allow that typo - it's definitely a subscript variable $x$ instead of a \times or \prod or \bigtimes or whatever. What $v$, $T_x$ and $M$ denote is anyones guess. Edited April 25, 2018 by mathematics

What $v$, $T_x$ and $M$ denote is anyones guess. What we're seeing is a subscript variable, but if that's the case, then the statement becomes meaningless, unless T_x M is just shorthand for a product of something that results in a set (and the most likely candidate there is the cartesian product anyways). The most likely explanation is a naive user just using 'x' as a multiplication sign, and their software just automatically turning it into a subscript x. This is just a chartered accountant being transcribed by a random Rangers fan, after all, not some mathematician with LaTeX-guru skills writing up a research paper. Shtuggie
As much as I am enjoying the fawning over Hibs, it must be remembered that they haven't don't anything even remotely outwith standard procedure here. I love the idea of the board scheming to cause this outburst, and I have no doubt they will secretly enjoy it, but there is no way winding up Rangers even came into consideration with this decision. Hibs fans took up the entire home allocation with three weeks to spare before the game. The match could see the end of a fantastic season, and we still have the possiblity of coming second. The board are fulfilling their capacity perfectly as they react to a huge demand for home end tickets - great news for any club. This whole situation unfortunately highlights what has been wrong with Scottish football for many years. Both members of the Old Firm as it was, and now Newco, have been treated with favouritism and had the system skewed in their favour for as long as most can remember. If anything , its easy to understand why Rangers are sturggling with the concept of fair play so badly - If you let a kid have anything the want, then take it away from them, its going to cause a reaction. The media, footballing authorities and all clubs are responsible for allowing Scottish football to be run by two corrupt clubs - hopefully this is the start of some realisation for those who associate themselves with either club, though I doubt it.
