Dindeleux
If Gerrard comes in I wouldn’t actually be surprised to see this as a rumour in the Daily Record etc for a couple of weeks whilst Sevco scramble to sell season tickets. -

He needs space to run into behind defences, and pretty much everyone defends deep and in numbers against the Old Firm. The classic example is Tore Andre Flo being a success at Chelsea but a failure in Glasgow while Chris Sutton was a failure at Chelsea but a success in Glasgow. Old Firm strikers need to be able to play with their backs to goal, and to be good at shooting through packed penalty boxes. That's not Fernando Torres. But if Rangers want to blow £8million on his wages for a couple of years, they should go right ahead.

10menwent2mow
The best thing about that thread is the **** saying they wouldn’t have him because he’s past it. Just wow.
Arabdownunder
Quote Torres, it is reported, is looking for a figure closer to $4m - around £55,000 a week Gonna need a bigger warchest
Cerberus
Selling Morelos for £2 million to pay Torres’s wages for a season would be classic Sevco.Even better if he’s a dud.

People turning their nose up at Yaya Toure ffs Excellent link. Quote I put a team in a couple of threads I thought was fairly achievable. There's options as well for players ie if no Sktrtel Gareth Macauley. It's fairly unimaginative but just shows it could be done for a decent budget. If more funds available then the choice of player can improve further. Mcgregor Tav Sktrtel Kipre John Mulumbu Davis Kamara Mcarthur Arfield Ings (loan) Add McBurnie as well for another option. So far other suggestions include - Didac Villa - a left back at Espanyol who according to Google has a £25 million buy out clause in his contract. Ryan Fraser Tom Cairney Steven Fletcher Mario Balotelli - in the same post as Johnny Evans, Fernando Torres and Jordan Jones! Jack Rodwell - apparently going to be ok £44k wages at Sunderland so will fit right in at Rangers Craig Cathcart - started last night for Watford v Spurs. Barry Douglas My favourite quote which sums up how great next season is going to be if Gerrard becomes boss? Quote We'll be aiming far higher than the likes of Kipre and Jason Naismith if Gerrard takes the job imo. I doubt he even knows who these guys are.
