Love how they claim it's surprising he defended Putin. And I see he's been at it again today. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/f1-autosport/1574383/bernie-ecclestone-nikita-mazepin-haas-russia-ujraine-vladimir-putin-f1-news
Rhys McCabe Hype Train
The real problem for Haas is how many races will Mazepin be able to drive at? They will end up with Fittipaldi in the car as he is the defacto reserve driver.
scottsdad
That's the whole contract with Russia (which was to run to 2025) canned now. Please replace with a decent race track...

Miguel Sanchez
Mazepin not allowed to race at all unless... Nikita Mazepin would have to sign document forbidding supporting Russia to stay in F1 - BBC Sport Quote Nikita Mazepin would be required to sign a document forbidding him from supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine if he remains in Formula 1. The Russian is expected to lose his Haas seat because of the Ukraine crisis but is still officially a driver. The FIA has made not backing the invasion, either directly or indirectly, a requirement to race.

scottsdad
The loss of a title sponsor will really hurt the team.
Sarto Mutiny
Mazepin is no great loss to the sport, obviously. God knows how Haas get through this though.

steelmen
Yes but there will be be a sponsorship contract that secured his position in the team. True.. although the courts will allow it with the argument ‘it’s because of Russia.’
Iminavest
Watching Sky's answer to DTS, 'Duel', can't take for granted how good last year was. Some interesting takes from the british pundits on the Silverstone incident vs Monza though ETA; the tears at the end are still glorious. The sky pundits have definitely moved towards the Verstappen side of things which wasnt the case at the time. Anyone with a deep analysis of the season knows Hamilton was supremely lucky to even be in with a shout at the end of the year.
scottsdad
The documentary was very good - but those last 10 minutes were something else. Drive to Survive is back on Friday. That's my weekend sorted.

I feel it's getting poorer as it goes on and more people pull out of filming with it. I'm not sure I want Toto and Horner's bullshit so much.
