doulikefish
That 5 sec penalty is pretty inconsistent from early races in the first couple of corners from a start

MrWorldwideJr
Not sure what was more painful there. The utter nonsense of throwing an unnecessary red flag in the first place, the completely predictable outcome of the restart or having to sit through 10 minutes of the Croft and Kravitz brains trust trying to work out what would happen next. It's obvious and shouldn't need said, but the race director should be making decisions based on safety, not entertainment value. It's been clear for a few years now that that isn't the case. And given there have been 3 race directors in that time it's clearly a series decision. None of the three have these issues in other series they've looked after. There should have been no red flags today and wouldn't have been in any other series (bar maybe NASCAR). A red flag to sweep up some gravel and debris FFS. Iminavest
Tbh, I'm all for the red flags given they immediately cause the Sky Sports Hamilton presenters minds to turn into playdough

Agree, years gone by a few laps under the SC would have seen a handful of guys with brushes sort that easily. See watching the highlights, it probably looks amazing but watching it live is a labour of love a lot of the time.

The Albon crash I could kind of see the point in since there was the car, bits of the car and gravel spread out over a fairly large area. Plus they probably thought the barrier was damaged. The others were a joke and the restart with two laps to go had the most predictable outcome possible. It's "entertaining," but what do Alpine think now they've gone from a good result to no points? One day this will piss off a big team and hopefully it all blows up. Still, my condolences to anyone who got up early to watch this and suffered through Crofty and Kravitz' latter-day Alan Partridge tribute act. More fool you if you're actually paying for Sky.
