Ultimately the crash was good for Verstappen. Would have lost the same number of points to Norris but gained a few on Piastri and LeClerc.

Colapinto has also managed more in two races than Sargeant managed in 18 months - admittedly not difficult! Shame we need to wait until next season for Bearman and Colapinto will probably be back in F2 or off to Super Formula.

As it was on the penultimate lap the only difference would be Bernd coming out, picking up the leader, probably driving slower around the circuit than VSC speed, then leading them across the line.

I think for the same reason as there wasn’t a red flag in Australia when Russell crashed, the double yellows/VSC has the same instant affect on what the drivers do as the red flag does but without all the faff of waiting about and restarting the race

Its a long lap in Baku is the only reason I can think off IE giving the marshals a bit of time to see if it can be cleared before stopping the race ..but yeah the f2 incident should have been red flagged immediately

Fair enough, just seemed an incident that would automatically have the safety car out. Doesn't make any difference in the grand scheme of things.

Lawson to replace Ricciardo for Singapore.

It could be that the rumour that Lawson has to take part in 5 races this season as part of his contract with RB is correct. Could finally be the end for Ricciardo.

I’ve not seen that, just that he’s going to be with mini red bull next year.
