Also drinking in Rome's pretty much only Irish pub? Wouldn't need Poirot to find you all. No wonder why so many thought the safety guidelines given by the police and their own club were just to be ignored.

It wasn't just an anti-fascist banner though was it? They had a massive banner with a nod to a terrorist group that killed a former Prime Minister. Could have had better exposure from the Italian press and so on but had to ruin it because just being anti-fascist wasn't edgy enough for the Green Brigade. edinabear
I feel bad for the real Celtic fans who have been caught up in this mess by the actions of the militant, pro IRA supporters group called the Green Brigade. I thought Lawell banned them?

Celtic travel without Tom Rogic, Boli Bolingoli, Jozo Simunovic, Mikey Johnston and strikers Vakoun Bayo and Leigh Griffiths. The club's only fit centre forward, Odsonne Eduoard, is one booking away from a ban. Bolingoli's absence with a hamstring injury could mean a European debut for Greg Taylor at left-back and right-back Jeremie Frimpong drops out since the teenager was not registered for the competition. Greg Taylor managed to score for Connah's Quay Nomads in Wales and then miss two sitters against them at Rugby Park, so it's definitely not his "European debut".

TheCelt67
Whatever issues people, understandably, have with terror atrocities being carried out under an Irish Republican banner, that's one thing, but to genuinely think that excuses those who are openly fascist and supporters of a former regime that played it's part in the deaths of millions, you can f**k off as far as I'm concerned.
Lee Van Tee
If Celtic fans are so disgusted by Lazio and their supporters, why not do the sensible thing and boycott the match rather than giving the club money for a ticket? And again, knowing the reputation of the fans in Rome, why travel over and put yourself at risk? Is a single person surprised about any stabbing?

Personally, I’m just scunnered with a section of Celtic supporters, and other clubs’ supporters, being constantly involved in non-footballing shite. If it isn’t facist salutes, it’s Palestinian flags, loyalist Norn Iron pish, Republican hunger strikers from the 1970s, Popes, Queens, guys on white horses.... or you name it. Said it before, but when a St Mirren play an Aberdeen, or a Killie play a Ross County, it’s just folk going to see their team play. Basically, shove yer’ balaclavas and shite up yer’ arse, sideways.

Or Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Middlesborough fans? This is just what they do there when you bring a sizeable support. The banners at Celtic Park had absolutely zero influence on things.

Indeed, the deflectors are up and trying to make people on here seem as if they're picking fascism over Irish republicanism. When the reality it's just a big f**k off to all of it at the football. This moral high ground stance the Celtic fans are taking is utterly laughable.
