Isn't how this is supposed to work with these accounts? They're actually getting a bit cleverer (I think). The first few posts are pretty innocuous, and it's only after a few that they start with the links. I'm watching them though. And when they slip up, I'll pounce.

BFTD
It would be fun to have one of those AI learning chatbots on the site, to tell everyone they're seething and need a kick in the pie. Maybe we already have a couple, thinking about it

It's a bit awkward to ban a poster early doors when their only crime is not joining to talk about football. I never talk about football. But your point about AI is interesting - earlier spam accounts didn't post links straight away but also didn't choose a team - which was a bit of a giveaway. But @sportman has learned where his predecessors failed. I'm genuinely interested to see where they go next - and what happens when we reach singularity. Just realised he's posted a link which I've removed. I'd love to see him reply to this message. He's just the first that springs to mind.
Thistle_do_nicely
Mastermind is pretty much like a bot programmed to make about 5 different kinds of post about the SNP, English football and Scottish football. I've already posted that before, too... wait, am I the spambot all along? Getting to Blade Runner level shitposting right here...
Cardinal Richelieu
Wow. I'm quite impressed. @sportsman has been going back to edit previous mundane but otherwise acceptable posts to then add his nefarious links to them, rather than post the links when he made the post. I'd be interested to see what he / she / it / they / do next. Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I for one welcome our new spam-posting overlords.
Benjamin_Nevis
Payday loan companies are largely arseholes and them going out of business is near stauner-inducing. Credit Unions are however becoming increasingly dodgy and could do with some parliamentary scrutiny imo.

Benjamin_Nevis
How come? Laundering Dosh?Discovery Credit Union in Dundee are encouraging folk on benefits to take up loans by signing over child benefit as collateral. Dodgy as f**k. One of my colleagues was recently at a debt advice training course at which one of their employees also attended, and spent the entire thing moaning about scroungers and the pleasure he took in getting child benefit off folk. He's been banned from attending any more.
ICTChris
Are credit unions not regulated to stop them engaging in practices such as the above?

BFTD
The credit union thing is a bit of a surprise. I helped out with one (in no useful capacity, sadly) for a wee while and it seemed like they were pretty heavily regulated. Jupe, was your weirdo on the course working for them in a paid capacity? That's the only reason I can think for them wanting to be there. Well, unless it's Oaksoft.

I was surprised at these tactics as well as initially Credit unions seemed a decent alternative to payday loan cowboys. Pretty sure there are a few others in Scotland adopting the same ideas.
