Reckon Nicola will go further than this... Going to be an interesting afternoon. Only had a quick look at the 'key' points, but seems like very little, how on earth do they think that is going to have a significant impact? Hope the Scottish Gov don't disappoint and act with a little more urgency. Though with no sign of furlough changing, what else can they do with pubs & restaurants than table service and shorter opening hours?

Bolton was also still struggling. If folks aren't going to listen and do what they want anyway you're pretty restricted (pardon the pun) in what you can do to try and stop the spread.. I was looking at the Prevalence rates a few days ago, bolton was at 190 cases per 100,000 people. To give an indication of how big that is, the airbridge that the government is doing with other countries is on the basis they are below 20 per 100000. Glasgow was at 50 and North Lan was 60 odd. Scottish average was 16.

Guest bernardblack
What pubs and restaurants were not table service though? I’ve not seen anyone ordering or sitting/standing at bars
D.A.F.C
Would it be an idea to 100% test a school or a few schools and parents to see how bad the spread is from kids?
smpar
Nicola seems to want to go one step further than Westminster however, so what is it that's going to get the hit tonight?Restrictions on visits to other households is my guess. I’m saying 6 people max over 2 houses with a 2 weeks review.

I don't think we are in a position where we have so many tests that we can expend several thousand on testing a school to check things.

They will keep the bars open but with the same time curfew as England. Maybe chuck in a 5 mile travel limit for exercise and non essential journeys.

I for one am shocked. Although the VAT paid by such places must be absolutely massive to the exchequer.

As are the pubs being kept open, NS might go for for a 9:45 curfew. I really cant see a travel limit coming in though. Outdoor tourism in Scotland is probably doing quite well, I think it would be fruitless to stifle that. Ivo den Bieman
Think NS will be throwing some bad arras when she steps up to the oche at 2.20. Think socialising between households will be banned, pubs and restaurants may be shut, FE / HE likely to be online delivery only. The school week likely to be heavily restricted, too. Pubs, restaurants, schools are the worst places for transmission and it is mad children are back at all. I also think those of us hoping to see a football match this side of Christmas are likely to be sorely disappointed. England's cancelling of sport with fans pretty much guarantees it. I think in the lower leagues, HL / LL, and the newly established leagues below, are gubbed this season. Johnson's announcement was laughable. Rishi Sunak's bullshit "Eat Out to Help Out" scheme has actively accelerated the spread of the virus (£10 off your bill and coronavirus as a complementary side order). We're not going back to the "old normal" for a long time. But despite this being a hideous global pandemic, twitter and the Unionist press will be full of the usual knuckle-dragging Unionists wailing about how we're actually living in North Korea because "STURGEON RIPPED UP MA SEASON TICKET", "BORIS IS MAH PRIME MINISTUR". "WEE NIPPY'S ENJOYING THIS", "AH'M NO WEARING A MASK", "IT'S AWNLY A CAULD". The more we humour these cretins the longer it will take to get back to any kind of normal.

I’ve never even as many motor homes around Ayrshire as I have the last few months. Parking up at Girvan harbour there’s about 25+ per night. A travel limit would be cutting their nose off to spite their face

Anyway, I need stuff to do whilst the state look after my kids for me for 30 hours a week. Other suggestions are welcome. It's almost like I have too much time. ETA I was also at Tim Hortons today. Sadly lacking in yummy mummy's who apparently have taken their gatherings elsewhere

It's a "hideous global pandemic" which has taken hold for at least 6 months across all parts of the globe. What this means is that we're now in a position to draw comparisons with other parts of the world in their handling of said pandemic. From that, it's clear to see that the politicians in this country (UK and Holyrood) have made a right c**t of it.
