Seemed a nice enough campus. Town was fairly non descript to me. Only been there and Amsterdam in the Netherlands, but the two things that stuck with me on all those trips is that 1. Their beer is shit and 2. They really can't cook to save themselves. The food is shite but eating bread, ham and cheese seems to have made them all giants. When you think about it their only cultural contribution in the last 40 years is trance DJs and Ace of Base. Sad state of affairs but generally sound people.

Heard a few years ago that the reason the Dutch were so much better than Scots was that on a Saturday afternoon far more Dutch were playing it than watching it, the reverse of Scotland. I think that's probably changed, they've caught up with us.

philpy
We all knew this would happen. Public transport completely rammed with everyone leaving the pubs at the same time. Tonight will see a few house gatherings I reckon, the josh Taylor fight is on. -

They were far more transparent from the start so had higher infection and death figures but were later shown to have handled it better than most. https://www.brusselstimes.com/news/belgium-all-news/132481/belgiums-security-council-introduces-long-term-coronavirus-strategy/ I don't think it can be said that Belgium's approach has shown to be particularly good in the long run (so far). This is the deaths per million since the start, with some neighbouring comparisons. They're about 2.5 times worse than the Netherlands.
Dunning1874
It's almost as if closing pubs at 10 was always going to lead to this situation, and the people who adopted this policy have no understanding of human behaviour and/or have never been in a pub by 10 on Friday or Saturday.

Genuine question, and I'm not necessarily saying it's an issue in this case, but where does the line fall between the government not understanding human behaviour and the public acting like fannies regardless?

Quote However, Belgium may have been over-reporting the actual number of cases.[11] Unlike many other countries, which publish figures based primarily on confirmed hospital deaths, the death figures reported by the Belgian authorities include deaths in the community, especially in care homes, confirmed to have been caused by the coronavirus, as well as a much larger number of such deaths suspected to have been caused by the virus, even if the person was not tested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_in_Belgium

ICTChris
The Dutch are probably tall because of dairy products.A nation of tall cheese-eaters http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-34380895Urban legend tells of a wealthy executive who complained to the national airline KLM about the food provided in business class. There was no need for all the fancy hot food and champagne, he said. A tasty cheese sandwich and a glass of milk would do just fine.[\quote]
Whitburn Vale
So,we're back in the middle of a toilet roll purge, one person starts a rumour that its running out, next tthing they're all on it,what a shower of sheep, human brings are !!! It's not like we're back in a "full" lockdown once more, shops still open, plus what is the benefit of having lots of bog roll stored away for coronavirus?? Sad seeing the utter desperation of certain people, that they would willingly disadvantage others
