Dont even remember what tier 3 was like. Seems like the central belt has been in lockdown since October.

I remember being on a train in early September heading out for dinner hearing that household visiting in my LA was to be banned.

By the start of the last week in April, it will be 34 weeks, with the exception of 1 day, since i've been allowed to enter my parents' house.

Probably the most crucial and most anticipated/watched announcement since March, and it was one of her shortest, with no details past you'll get tier 3 in April.

She obviously felt like she had to do a big announcement the day after Boris, but I think she's seriously misjudged what people were expecting from it.

Might've missed it, but did Nicola say anything about grassroots sport?

In England 'organised outdoor sport' can return from March 29. Be a bit of a farce if Tooting and Mitcham Rovers Amateurs can play down south, but nobody can do anything up here.

The "grassroot" sports have always been a shambles up here during these lockdowns/tiers. I know they dont class them as grassroot level but I'd imagine League 1 and 2 and the Womens league will be shelved. Kinda annoying when England leagues (including the women) are still playing

I know she said we'd release things faster if the data allowed, but did she give any indication of what sort of data levels we need for that to happen? She's left it deliberately very vague, which I understand but I do find a bit frustrating.

Sturgeon's deliberate vagueness is becoming irritating.

I detest myself for agreeing with Ruth the Mooth, but she's correct in saying that this is a holding pen rather than a roadmap out of lockdown.

It smacks of continually kicking the can down the road because she's terrified to make definitive decisions.

Oh yeah comparing my ability to live a normal life and see loved ones is often held in comparison to Guantanamo, you're right I should be grateful it's not as bad as Guantanamo.

Pretty much the same if you're not very good at playing spot the difference.

Christ your dense. Until the start of April your life isn't changing drastically from what it is now.  The stay at home message remains in Eglnad until 29th of March, a marginal difference.

You've plenty freedom to go out and about in terms of exercise. Living in the borders, it's hardly a bad option.

I procrastinated for 2 hrs waiting for that.  In future, I'll not bother and just do what's best, which is get all of the important news from P&B (where the HIGLNFY thread is anyway)

Tier 4 and Tier 3 didn't feel particularly different to me, since neither of them really allowed me to do most of the stuff I actually enjoy doing in my life - especially travelling between council areas. Cafes being open is a slight bonus I suppose.

Exactly, even a fucking recluse like me can see that and feel disappointed. Anyone with a modicum of a life outside their house won't see much difference for months.

I might start going to church to piss the cūnts off.

Only organised sport in England can return on the 29th so you can't have a game of 5s with your pals.

Non organised sports like golf resume on the 29th March in England and are already open in Scotland.

Disappointing not to see contact sports return nevertheless.

To be honest, I'm thinking of myself and family here (!!), but was hoping that my son (6 yo) would maybe be able to get back to his football training with his local club (organised football). To me it seems that would be permissable in England come late March.

In Scotland it would seem late April at the very earliest.

There's been a fair amount of stuff about how transmission outside is significantly lower, so I'm a bit surprised that 20 folk can meet up indoors in a church ahead of 10-12 kids playing outdoor football for an hour once a week. (IAdults should be able to play football ahead of churchgoers too I'd add)

It has been. My brother plays U20s and hasn't played a competitive game at all since lockdown came in. It's crazy. Give how low risk outdoor sport has been shown to be, and given the fact it seems to have been prioritised down south, I thought we might hear about it today. But the Scottish Gov seem to treat it solely as a hobby.

We are going to have a situation where League One and League Two clubs won't be allowed to test and play in late March/April, but pub teams in England will be allowed to play without any sort of testing. That's mental.

You don't start conversations with "Christ you're dense" and get to engage in serious discussion you idiot.
