Elixir
So Boris will be announcing vaccine passports are in the bin on Tuesday it seems. Not really a huge surprise. People in England must be pissing themselves at the ongoing theatre nonsense that is still going on in Scotland. Folk I know who live in London say mask use is getting increasingly rare, the Perspex screens and social distancing stickers are gone or going, no farcical track and trace - and yet their cases per head of population are lower than Scotland. What an embarrassing state our country is in.

What an embarrassing state our country is in. So a return to masks and WFH this winter instead is the alternative to passports. Stunned at that sort of U-Turn to be honest. If things get that bad I suspect it will be passports over mask mandates, a reintroduction of masks would finish him in England. -

alta-pete
Watching TRNSMT on the telly, Liam belting out the Oasis hits, the crowds going wild, crammed in like sardines. Looks fucking awesome although I’m probably now 30+ years beyond their target demographic. Good job they’ve all had their LF tests and brought their masks to get the lucozade curers from the Spar shop on the way home. The pantomime in this country is beyond parody. Poll tax, Trident and countless other causes called for mass civil disobedience with varying successes. Yet, our generation (25-55, I’m looking at you/me), we’re all cowed behind useless paper face coverings just coz oor Nicola sez. Biggest compliant shitebag population ever. Shite state of affairs.
Billy Jean King
It really would be the icing on the cake if it turned out that our mask obsession is what is causing the extra cases up here (if the case numbers can even be trusted in the first place). Imagine if instead of flying past our faces, scientists discovered that the extra suction produced by reducing the gap through which the same pressure of intake breath has to go, sucks in covid soaked particles through the sides of masks which would normally have passed us by.Detournment has hacked your account. Tin foil hat stuff.

Elixir
We don't deserve to be an independent country as things stand. At least England will eventually draw the pant wetting losers in the diddy government up here into line like they have for everything else. Just tragic that it will be so drawn out. England: Scotland: Shameful. Pathetic. Edited September 11, 2021 by Elixir

England: Scotland: Shameful. Pathetic. But what you’re forgetting is that masks and vaccine passports are in place to ‘keep people safe’ and NS makes no apologies for that. Which explains why our case rates are so much lower than England whose policy is a ‘threat to the world’ according to independent sage. Oh wait…

A bit mask wearing, who gives a f**k? 2 or 3 clubs have an extra bit of admin to do, so what? Hardly a fucking major infringement of civil liberties ffs. Cases are surging, deaths on the up, You cant just do f**k all. Meanwhile, court jester Boris, is just being the populist and climbing down because he is under threat yet again from his backbench. He's just the spineless incompetent c**t that gives priority to his popularity than people's health. Don’t agree with that. Scotland is the case capital of the world with strict mask wearing. What does that prove? They’re useless and probably part of the problem. Deaths are quite minimal when you consider 150 people die every day in Scotland. Although cases are high but starting to drop not many people are getting seriously ill. The solution is vaccinations and once completed that should be it. Stop the nonsense, get GP’s back to seeing patients and treat Covid just like a normal, nasty disease that we need to live with (or give up living). If the reports are correct, I agree with Boris.

I have been surprised how little we seem to know about whether masks prevent transmission or not. Amazed that more research hadn't been done pre-COVID into how masks affect transmission.

craigkillie
Granny Danger presumably realising he has nothing to offer in the way of meaningful discussion after his 5 million cases a day fiasco, so just resorting to posting irrelevant polls.

Oh wait… Polls don't t tell you if a politician is doing a good job or not. They might suggest that a substantial section of the population disagree with you, but that doesn't mean they are doing a good job. Since you like comparing the SNP with the Tories, I can only assume you think 'Boris' is doing a great job.

Like posting the results of the Brexit referendum - remember not everyone who voted for Brexit actually wanted Brexit.

Oh wait… The 'enforcement' of this up here for the football and nightclubs will be laughable. Yet more theatre simply to placate the Lovejoy's and to polish and protect Sturgeon's massive ego. I also do love how many of the mitigations the iSAGE weirdos pine for are in place in Scotland but aren't in England, and yet simply look at how things are playing out. Remember when clowns like TheJTS98 was giving it big licks over their 'unethical experiment' nonsense? 2 hours ago, TheBruce said: Nicola is correct to be cautious and following the science. I’m just pointing out, yet again, that the rabbit hole dwellers on here do not speak for the majority of people in Scotland in their condemnation of Sturgeon’s handling of the Covid issue. I’m sure there are some who fully understand this, but equally there are others who genuinely seem to believe that they are the voice of the people. It’s Trumpian.

So I'm guessing if you are using this as the bar of how well SNP are governing, you'll also subscribe to the view that the Tories are doing well given voting intentions UK wide follow a similar pattern for them? A truly ridiculous stance to take GD.
