Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

Amazing how for years we had the Brexit mob trumpeting taking back control of our borders but for the last 12 months, with a rampant virus spreading across the world, we've let anyone come into the country without the most basic of checks to try and stem the spread of COVID.

Theryar! Victims already.

Sure are!Screenshot_20210105-134132.thumb.jpg.358f9f0bf65d91dae242a504f9eb0fe0.jpg

It is a bit of a joke that they are there in a global pandemic but for the a club that always seems to be on the attack of injustice it seems a bit odd to flock to a country where it's still illegal for everyone to kiss the person they love.

Least likely to die, bearing in mind you have already taken every with underlying health conditions the chances of someone healthy under 30 being hospitalised or dying from Covid must be extremely small

It's extremely small for anyone under 80

Certainly under 70

Only if they let them leave first. Then in transfer window parlance, the door should be slammed shut.

Quite fuckin right! As much as devi gets a hard time on here for her zero covid stuff, it’s worth remembering that we did almost manage it last summer. There were days when we were getting under new 5 cases . Those itk were telling us that it had been eradicated outside of medical and care settings AND we done all that without masks
2 weeks after the opening of the travel and tourism sector cases started picking up again and haven’t really subsided since

Was there anything else that opened towards the end of summer which might have played a part do you think?

Well yes of course there was, but that was another 4 weeks down the line. In that time we went from 5 cases on july 15 to over 160 a month later. From what we’ve seen since it seems clear that schools multiply infectiions but it has to get in there in the first place.

And with imported strains that hadn't been seen in the UK before.

Good Afternoon. 7 Days on from my last review it is worth a complete council update.   Public Health have enjoyed their holidays and updated the figures.

Overall cases per 100K  for 7 days  in period 20th Dec to  26th Dec  was134.6

From 27th Dec to 2nd January we have erm jumped to 279.7

A jump of 106.32%     This is clearly a real eye opener

Let us just take a look at the councils and see who is to blame.  (Took the piss at Xmas)

Inverclyde  162.0 to 578.4   Five Hundred and Seventy Eight !!

Dumfries & Galloway  77.3 to 536.1  Five Hundred and Thirty Six !!

Scottish  Borders   129.0 to 432.0

Renfrewshire  188.2 to 414.9

North Lanarkshire  173.4 to 402.2

Dundee City   184.8 to 382.4

East Ayrshire  193.4  to 366.4

East Renfrewshire  181.1 to 365.3

North Ayrshire  154.4 to 321.4

Glasgow City  170.0 to 315.6

South Lanarkshire   171.9 to 278.0

Aberdeen City 164.9 to 277.3

Falkirk   101.3 to 269.7

East Dunbartonshire  126.1 to 265.1

Aberdeenshire   131.7 to 259.2

West Dunbartonshire   1124.8 to 250.8

Shetland Islands Now 240.0

City Of Edinburgh   142.5 to 239.1

Angus 94.7 to 230.6

Perth & Kinross  123.7 to 219.2

South Ayrshire 101.2 to 214.0

Midlothian   122.2 to 204.4

Fife   114.6 to 194.6

Clackmannanshire 71.8 to 194.0

Highlands  55.4 to 186.2

West Lothian  84.7 to 175.3

East Lothian   112.1 to 146.6

Stirling  84.9 to 142.2

Moray   55.3 to 123.1

Argyll & Bute   51.2  to 85.0

Western Isles  Now 48.7

Orkney Islands Now 0.0

Still large areas in some places still basically free of the virus.   Fife for instanced riddled centrally and south and fewer than 50 cases in the 100,000 plus inhabitants in the North East.

These people deserve our thanks but feel it's been engineered so that the media can show people upset and not show folk piling up waiting to be seen and who knows how possible it is to keep the covid and non Covid patients apart.

A couple of interesting questions on TV earlier which would be good to know the answers to - We keep hearing the politicians and their excuses about the amount of doses available...

Is the vaccine manufacturing happening as a 24/7 operation?

If not, why not?

It absolutely should be 24/7 IMO. (And it might be, I just don’t know).

Testing and being vaccinated should also 100% be a 24/7 operation too. I’d gladly go for a 4:30am vaccination appointment if that was the slot I was given.
