Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The problem is that policy is set by those who are ignorant of real world issues. Unfortunately it's now taken for granted that everyone has a smartphone and knows how to use it, they talk of "QR codes" as if everyone in society knows what that is when in reality most over 60's probably haven't got a bloody clue what it is, let alone how to use it.

It's a similar situation to the "nobody uses money or Banks anymore", again, utter and complete rubbish, however it hasn't stopped them closing and leaving many people with major issues as a result.

Yeah they're certainly at risk of excluding a lot of people of this comes through, but I think its inevitable if BJ was speaking about it.

The money thing is another bug bear of my Mum, she likes to work with cash so she knows how much shes spent without having to check online accounts etc. Tbh it pisses me off that Gregg's now only accept card. Having to use contactless to buy a £1 sausage roll 😑

The conspiracy theorists spoke about vaccine passports when this whole covid situation started and they were deemed moonhowlers, looks like they were right.

I can understand to a degree the need for vaccine proof for foreign travel but it can get itself to fck for domestic things like pubs, sports, gigs. Good luck trying to push that through and descrimating against a vast majority of the BAME population

It is only discriminating against people without a vaccine.

Using the race or ethnicity argument and you are on a hiding to nothing.

If all this scanning phone nonsense to get in a pub ever comes to pass, then I think it will be a case of looking out the Ghetto Blaster and heading off to Vicky Wine or Haddows for a big cargo down the quayside or local park etc.

lol. Just noticed you're quoting covid fantasist and grifting moonhowler Claire Craig. Please treat my question like you did the last time I questioned your pish and ignore it. TIA [emoji106]
Also bear in mind this is about his 3rd or 4th incarnation here. Rinsed each time eventually.

RE: Vaccine passports. I have a certain degree of sympathy for both WM and the SG whatever route they choose to go down on them.

On one hand, you will have those who demand the Government mitigate their level of risk to such a minute level that they will champion them, and will actively beg for them to be introduced so they can be "Safe" whenever they go out, whilst on the other you have people who don't believe they are necessary at all, and just want the Government messaging to be open and honest about how infinitesimal the risk is once the at risk groups (and indeed a large number of the rest of the adult population) have been vaccinated.

I happen to fall into the latter camp there, but there are plenty of people out there terrified still as a result of being bombarded with messaging telling them that if they go out they will kill a relative, and if they don't sanitise the skin off their hands they will die because they opened a letter. I'll also have had both jags soon so in a way it really doesn't affect me at all, but I still don't think they are necessary.

Opening up in a way that satisfies both ends of the spectrum is almost impossible, and I feel the decision will come down to whichever side shouts loudest, and also what other countries do.

I do not expect the WM Govt. to be adopt an outlier stance again after last March, and the SG will simply do everything that WM do, plus more, to show they care more.

I've no problem with a vaccine passport if it's just for international travel - certainly better than leaving it to the individual to prove they've been vaccinated.

Anything more than that is an absolute no from me.

I have all his old pseudonyms on ignore. He's not spammed enough yet to make that hallowed list. In fact, all he does is post and bolt. No engagement at all. Maybe because deep down he knows its all pish

It pisses me off that folk think Gregg's sausage rolls are worth purchasing.

I'll settle for a pub that doesn't contain auld pishers, your mum or folk that purchase shite from Gregg's.

A friend of mine in North Macedonia posted a photo on social media of them in a pub close to two friends with no mask wearing.

It was odd to see given the restrictions we've been under the last year.

North Macedonia has a population of 2.5 million. Daily infection rate for 23rd March was 1345 compared to 692 in Scotland

And younger generations, I'm mid 20s and can't see me getting offered a vaccine any time soon, so all the pensioners run about daft whereas anyone under the age of 30 aren't allowed to go anywhere for the foreseeable.

Well aware this isn't news, but who would've thought that electing an actual fascist would lead to absolute national disaster while being told by said fascist to basically ignore it. Brazil in Sacha Baren Cohen "fake dictator" levels of incompetent leadership right now. An absolute tragedy in so many peoples' lives, and this dude tells them to stop whining about it. Genuinely a black comedy at this point.

Well, we'll just have to get on with it, won't we?

You can sit in the garden, it's not like you'll be stuck indoors.

Not that I agree with it, but the suggestion is that you would also be able to take a test as well so it's not specifically vaccines only - that would probably get it past any equality law issues.

Wait till we bring the Fallin variant on Sunday

At least you won't have to test for that, will be easy enough to spot.

Rapid weight gain, check.

Adopting a strange walking style, check.

A sudden urge to whistle badly, check.

The growth of a sixth finger, check.

Ladies and gentleman we have the Fallin variant.

It's still discrimination though. Taking a test once a week would be an 260 quid tax on going out and it would kill any spontaneous socialising like a pint after work.

If you’ve had covid but not the vaccine wouldn’t that put you at risk for testing positive for a good while after you’re not infectious?
