Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

I refuse to believe that 1.4% of the population in Scotland has Post Viral Fatigue, never mind PVF brought on by Covid.

Nor do I believe that the total number of "Long Covid" cases is equal to 13.6% of the total number of covid cases.

Who genuinely believes these figures and, perhaps more interestingly, why do they lie like this?

On a different note, good to see week on week case numbers fall again today after the slight rise yesterday.

And that's the "opposition". Similarity on last night's BBC Scotland equivalent of QT the labour representative on the panel said the alternative to vaccine passports was "testing, testing and more testing". He then went on to quote the WHO and said we need to test far more on a daily basis despite currently already testing (checks notes...) around 1in 100 of the entire population on a near daily basis.

I probably know 15 people who have had Covid and not one of them has any long term symptoms.  Everyone I've asked say they feel 'absolutely fine'.  I must just know lots of healthy people.

Do Aberdeen regularly get under 10k for home games. Never realised their support had ebbed away that much even given their poor start.

Is this how the scheme works ? The organisers decide on the need based on an estimate of attendance and what happens if say 15k rock up or is this them saying they are restricting the crowd to 9999 in essence ?

The legislation applies to events ‘planned on the basis’ that the crowd will be over 10,000. Extract below, with a link to the full legislation underneath.

‘“relevant event” is an event, except an exempt event, that is planned on the basis—

that it will be attended by more than 10,000 people simultaneously,’

The relevant stuff is in Regulations 7A to 7E in Part 2. Part 3 with all the stuff about crowd limits doesn’t apply anymore.

So it's a perfect get out clause for Aberdeen here. Just announce you "expect" a sub 10k crowd and then after it's announced as 14k (for example) the club just shrug and say Wow didn't expect that.

Aberdeen are already in the bad books with Nippy. They might be trying to bait her into cancelling more games to help out Glass.

It is an interesting one because we clearly sell well over 10k tickets for every game and usually announce the crowd as 13-15k however that attendance figure is based on tickets sold rather than actual numbers present. Thousands of season ticket holders have not been turning up this season. 800 is also about the average amount Hibs and Hearts have been bringing in recent seasons however with both teams doing well, I am sure the club are aware they are likely to come close to selling out their 1700 allocation.

Reading this with the football on and strange with Italy as low as you state that they still have quite heavily restricted crowds while the UK is pretty much back to normal. If they are not allowing full capacity with the tiny rates currently you wonder when they ever will.

Max Rushden who is the human equivalent of a mid tier chain restaurant wants players to be banned from playing if they don't get vaccinated.

He's just moved to Australia. Perfect fit for him.

Something was certainly unusual about the apparent spike yesterday. It appears they're on the way back up again - which will probably be on the way back down in two or three weeks. That's what endemicity looks like.

It's self-reported long covid time again!

https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-more-than-one-million-people-say-they-have-long-covid-ons-data-shows-12428159

There's a claim within the article that an estimated 405,000 people have had a Covid symptom for at least a year (therefore that's the long covid box ticked) . Anyone curious to know how many total cases the UK had encountered on this very day, 7th of October, one year ago?

544,275

https://www.itv.com/news/2020-10-07/uk-covid-19-cases-increase-by-14162-in-single-day

We really need to stop publishing this hypochondriac shite.

Canada banning unvaccinated people from planes, trains and federal employment.

Just a conspiracy theory though.....

You'll know the answer to this. Did I hear on the radio earlier that Macron is mandating vaccines in Jan 2022? Remember the days France had a backbone? Oh wait

Can't believe how many Aberdeen fans are upset about this announcement of theirs.

Many of them seem to actually WANT their club to kick out unvaccinated season ticket holders.

Bizarre behaviour.

We do have an awful lot of wet nappies in our support who don’t like us playing the game here, although I’d be surprised if this wasn’t replicated across the board with other clubs under similar circumstances.

The Hibs/Hearts games will likely be season defining and our biggest Saturday 3pm home games, and there’s no way Cormack is just writing them off and assuming we won’t get near 9.2k bodies in with 800 away fans at each.

Wonder if Scot Gov might hit back and try and limit the capacity at 10k - in a way I hope they do try it, the club having a public spat with them over unwanted vaccine passport nonsense would be a fun distraction from the actual fitba.

I believe you've hit upon the nub of this.

If we weren't having a total mare on the field I doubt Dave would be doing this. Not after the total c**t he made of himself and the club last autumn demanding fans be allowed back, shortly before another 70k people died.

I've just about come to terms with him bringing in Scott Brown as club captain, I'm less keen on him channelling Jim Traynor for our comms.
